Congratulations to Goodrich Alpaca Haven. We purchased Bravado from Xanadu for advancing our white program and we have high hopes for him. His fiber is simply breathtaking and his conformation is solid. This boys second histogram came back at a remarkable 15.0 mic; 3.1 SD; 20.4 CVC and 0.7% + 30. His sire, Maple Brook Barnabus, has the best one year alpaca histogram ever seen - 12.8 mic; 2.6 SD; 20.4 CV and 0.3%+ 30! Most importantly, he consistently passed this to his offspring. Barnabus is a 7X Get of Sire winner whose 8 year old histogram came back at 20.0 mic; 3.9 SD; 19.4 CV and 2.2% + 30. His dam, Primavera, won a color championship at age 4 at Fall Fest, a Level III show. At 7 years old she is still shearing 9+ pounds of crimpy fleece. Bravado started his breeding career Fall, 2011. His first two cria arrived in August 2012. Both are beautiful fawns. Both have outstanding crimp and coverage. Bravado didn't disappoint with his first year of production. Both cria's won blue at MOPACA 2014. We bred him again for 2014 deliveries. We have 3 more 2014 Bravado cria. Two white girls and one beige boy. All look great and we are looking forward to showing them in the show ring.

Congratulations to Larry and Darla Goodrich for purchasing Ofelia. Ofelia was named after Ofelia Zepeda, a member of the Tohono O'odham nation who was devoted to preserving Native American languages, tribal communities and cultures. Our Ofelia is a real beauty! She was never shown in the show ring, but you can see her excellent conformation. Her micron 5/21/07 was 20.9. Ofelia's micron 5/22/09 was 22.1 with a comfort factor of 96%! It's no wonder you get stats like this being the daughter of Sunny Mesa's Augusta, who was 1st at GWAS 2005 for fleece, 1st and color and fleece champ at ABR Fall Fest 2005, and 1st at GWAS fleece 2006! Augusta is a Brock daughter and an Augusto Granddaughter. High Plains Aviator was Ofelia's first service sire for 2008. Ofelia gave us a beautiful boy we named Rickenbacker. Ricks fleece exhibits high amplitude crimp, with very good staple length and brightness. Rick also has a very heavy, square frame, and he holds himself as if he already knows he's going to be a premier herdsire at Castle Rock Alpacas. Rick has cria on the ground. Ofelia was breed in 2009 to Dundee Farm's Azetec Adrenalin who is also a multiple champion and 2 time Get of Sire! Ofelia gave us a beautiful beige cria on 8/18/2010. She was born 19.8 lbs and we have named her Isabella of Adrenalin. She has tight corkscrew fleece with spot on conformation. What a gift! Ofelia's service sire for 2010 is Snowmass Alpine King. On 9/22/11, Ofelia gave birth to a boy we named Iceland King. He has also developed into a proven herdsire. Ofelia was bred to Xanadu P Bravado for a 2014 cria and had a white girl we named Missouri Sunrise. She will make a great foundation girl for anyone.
