Torrefacto--it's a delicious Spanish coffee bean that is finely coated in sugar before roasting. Yumm! That describes our Torrefacto to a "T"! He's a true black son of our Champion black herdsire, Dundee's AJ Stormcat and our multiple-championship fawn gal, Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay. His dam took Reserve Color Champion in Fleece at the AOBA/International Fleece show in 2009, and our Torrefacto combines the best qualities of both of his parents. His sire comes from very black bloodlines known for retention of fineness, great conformation, and Torrefacto shares his sire's mellow temperament. His dam has incredibly dense, crimped fleece with a lo-o-ong staple length. Torrefacto has a correct, strong conformation--he's matured into an impressive macho. His fleece is bright and nicely crimped with a lovely handle and it is almost blue-black in hue. He has the cutest silver/white spot right on the tip of his nose. We think he's going to be something special, and so do the judges--he took a blue ribbon his first time out in the ring, and another 1st of 6 at the California Classic. I've just skirted his 2012 blanket for the fleece shows--he has fine fleece with a lovely handle, brightness, and nice bundling. It's yummy!---WOW--his 2013 fleece is EVEN BETTER--and it took RESERVE CHAMPION at the show! He's developed well-defined bundles with very high frequency crimp, brightness, and consistency of crimp. Torrefacto took 1st and Color Champion in the 2014 AlpacaMania Fleece show--with his 4rth Fleece! His dam, Inti-Siqay is really kicking in with her AOBA/International Championship fleece! Torrefacto is 4 1/2 years old now, and his first crias are on the ground. Moka is a TB female with matching white "spats" on her hind feet. She gets that cute white spot gene from her sire. I'm pleased to see Torrefacto has really improved both crias--Moka has fineness and density, with a medium frequency crimp and BRIGHTNESS! Kahlua is very bright, has a wonderful handle (his was the first cria fleece I sold), and also a medium amplitude crimp and very long staple length. ***Seller reserves 2 breedings to Torrefacto--drive by or will pay agistment for female. We don't want to lose out on this genetic power-house! Torrefacto has digs at Alpacas of Marin in the north San Francisco Bay area. There's more: Torrefacto took ANOTHER blue ribbon in fleece at the 2016 Nationals--the judge stated that he has excellent fleece characteristics for his age!

Dam: Gallant Deed's Cocopuff

TB Gal--choose from 2 TB champ studs!

Gallant Deed's Cocopuff

HuacayaOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 1237665DOB: 7/27/200519 yrs
Cocopuff is the product of the acclaimed Studmaster/Ideal Alpaca Community breeding program affiliated with North West Alpacas. It's fascinating to see how her grand-dam was "improved" in her breeding to Studmaster El Toro. Then, Cocopuff's dam was improved with her breeding to the outstanding MFI Peruvian Gallant Deed, one of the top Studmaster herdsires. Cocopuff is the result, and she is a solid, true black gal with a heavy blanket. She has bred readily and had trouble-free births of her six crias. She has excellent maternal instincts. Cocopuff comes with a breeding to your choice of our 2 champion black herdsires--Dundee's AJ Stormcat (sire of 2 previous TB offspring, both of whom took competitive blue ribbons their first time in the ring), and Marin's SC Torrefacto, sire of her stiking TB female cria in 2015. Cocopuff had her 2015 cria on June 13--an adorable TB girl with matching white "spats" on her hind feet. I really appreciate Cocopuff for her no-nonsense attitude--easy breeder, trouble free pregnancy, no commotion over the birth--I just looked up the hill, and there was a healthy cria kushed next to her dam, who was ready to pass the afterbirth. She's an affectionate Mom, and pretty good about letting us handle the baby. Definitely NOT a "drama queen"! We've named this cria "Moka", she is lovely--very soft handle, nice crimp, very bright fleece and perfect conformation. Moka is ready to wean and will not sell with her dam. Instead, we offer the breeding. Also, please see our "Black is Back" package that features Cocopuff plus a blue-ribbon winning black male junior herdsire, unrelated to Cocopuff(note: that would be Torrefacto). Give your black breeding program a jump start! Cocopuff has come to her new "digs" in coastal Marin County CA, in the North San Francisco Bay area.

Service Sire: MRN Mas Snowmas

Matrix, Quechua, Poseidon!

MRN Mas Snowmas

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 0031954471DOB: 5/27/20195 yrs
Wow! This is one of the best huacayas we have ever produced! His fleece is BRIGHT with beautiful popcorn bundles and high frequency crimp. Mas Snowmas is the culmination of a series of breedings we have carefully planned over the years, with each one reaching a higher plateau of perfection. This male is now the pinnacle of all that planning and waiting. A line breed on Matrix (dam is a Matrix granddaughter, sire is a Matrix son) AND a line breed on the incredible Snowmass Quechua--sire of Matrix, Snowmass Best Man, and so many other illustrious offspring. Frankly, in terms of quality, Quechua may have bested his famous son, Matrix! So our little guy was sired by a Quechua grandson but his dam is a Best Man daughter, making Mas Snowmas a Quechua great grandson twice over on his dam's side, as well! And what makes up the rest? How about Caligula's Accoyo Poseidon and a little PPeruvian Camillio for good measure? What a fantastic mix of genetic potential! He's back from the shows, and the judges were impressed by his incredible long staple length and bright fleece. In 2021 he sheared more than 12 lbs--that's more than 11% of his body weight! At 36 months, he had a skin biopsy, interpreted by Ian Watt: Density 79.2 mmm Secondary:Primary fiber ration: 10.9:1 mean primary diameter 24.1 SD 2.5 mean secondary fiber diameter: 10.1 SD 2.9 Comments: Superior density well supported by 2 very even fiber populations... An excellent set of numbers for any alpaca breeder! We agree, Ian. This male is starting his breeding career now! Update: First cria born, and he is a winner! Light fawn with LONG staple, BRIGHT/dense/fine fleece. A calm demeanor. We want more of these!
