Hellgate's Katoonah
Alpaca, Suri, Open (Female) | Light Fawn
AOA #32595482 | DOB: 7/25/2012 (12 yrs)
Sire: LCA Quecha
Fineness,Density,Luster,Lock''' LCA Quecha is a pround herdsire, carrying a spectacular suri fleece over is solid well conformed frame. A breeders accuaracy of secletion is improved if one incluedes and evaulutes the traits under selection on close relatives. At Alpaca Rose Ranch we pay particular attention to the herdsire dam along with her offspring (herdsires siblings) when selecting herdsire. Remember the dam contributes 50 percent of the genetic material and the sire contributes 50 percent of genetic material to the resulting offspring.
Quechu's dam caries one of the brightest and finest fleeces that Latah Creek has. Of all the foundation dams they had her 4 year old histogram measured an AFD of 21 microns. She is the dam of Champions. Her first son LCA Viho is a National Show winner in both halter and fleece shows. Quecha Sire is the infamous Ice Dancer. Not only does Ice Dancer have an undefeated show record influding winning every Color champion award in every show he was entered in as a yearling, his first Son LCA Commander Ice is the 2007 IAO Supreme Champion and AOBA National Color Champion.
When we first started looking for a new male I told the breeder I was looking for a male that had
great luster and that when I open up his fleece like the one in the photo I did not want to see any
cotting and wanted the fleece to fold back just like it had not been touch. Jack brought Quecha out of a field that had two feet of snow and I took that photo to show my wife. We bought him.
His first five cria's are on the ground for 2009 and we will post those photo's soon. He has won 5 ribbons so far for his fleece. Those will be posted. His second fleece took 3rd in 2009 Suri Network
Showcase and we plan on entering it in the 2010 season.
Take a look at his last two white crias for the 2010 season. Quechu's cria for the 2011 show season all took ribbons. If you have a set budget for breeding let us know and we will work with you. His cria's for 2013 wi<--description-->

Zakiya is really a beautiful suri with such fine (19 AFD) and lusterous fiber. I know this because hers is first I spin each year from our herd. She is a very timid animal who has produced 3 excellent animals, two of which have even finer fiber (18AFD), and both of which are exceptionally friendly. Her outstanding genetics assure you of continued quality in her progeny.

Description
Katoonah, named after a well-know Salish woman in Hellgate Valley, is an beautiful light fawn with very correct conformation, a good accoyo head, and excellent fiber. Her micron count is still at 18, with 3.6 standard deviation. Each year, the shearer/sorter picks her fiber as the best. She is very friendly, without being annoying, and will make a wonderful foundation dam for any herd.
