Daiquiri Ice ("Dax" for short) is an attentive mother with plenty of milk. She is a lovely animal with an easy-going disposition. Dax has fiber density, luxurious brightness and the crimpy lock formation of her sire. Dax has substance of bone and correct conformation. She is easy to handle. Dax gave us a beautiful, light fawn male cria out of Peruvian Da Vinci in October 2006. Dax's dam is medium fawn, so we chose once again to breed Dax to color, and this time to Sun Tzu, a MF Studmaster(tm) Herdsire. (Sun Tzu's fiber in 2005: AFD 19.80; SD 3.4; CV 17.20; %> 30 1.1) Dax delivered her cria from breeding to Sun Tzu on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008. The baby girl is named Harlow, and is beautiful with a dense, bundled white fleece, and weighed over 22#. Harlow did well in the showring. She'll be bred to Patagonia's Manuelo spring 2010. Next up, we bred Dax to FCA Maximus, a part Accoyo, fawn herd sire to bring out the greatest fineness and density in the offspring - possibly in color. Maximus has won many awards including reserve color champion and color champion. 'Ritz-Carlton', a medium fawn male with tremendous staple length and very fine fiber resulted. Ritz will be shorn and then shown without his cria fleece on, as the density and crimp that's coming in looks fantastic. In 2008 we had Dax's fleece sorted by a certified sorter. It was graded WR 2, with brightness score of 8, and a density score of 9! This female has nice fleece. In 2009 we bred Dax to our new junior herdsire Patagonia's Manuelo, who we purchased at the Parade of Champions auction. Manuelo has very fine and dense fleece, and is medium brown. Look forward to seeing if Dax can throw darker colors, too! Dax continues her career as a top quality production female. We recommend this young female highly as an important addition to your foundation herd.
