Iron is back in our pastures for semi retirement.. we will have from time to time progeny and potentially bred females for sale. One of his female offspring we kept in our breeding program is the dam of the 2023 AOA Grey Fleece Color Champion.. AND she is Harlequin.. so we thought maybe we should eek a few more cria out.. inquiries welcome. 2015 Histograms just in! AFD 24.7 SD 4.5 CV 18.1 CV 89.7 Curve 36.4 at FIVE YEARS OLD!!! What can I say - when Dee Sousa ran up to me at the bar at the 2011 Futurity and said "wanna go in on Iron!!!" how could I say NO... and so the story began - we had the winning bid and we took this little weanling home with us. His full sister sold that day for over $80,000.... we KNEW we had a winner - we just had to wait while he grew up. And grow up he did - winning a number of championships along the way including a sweep at IAO 2012 winning the Grey Male COMMERCIAL Halter Championship and Reserve Grey Male COTTAGE Fleece Championship - A fleece good for BOTH divisions!! And THIS YEAR SPINNERS DREAM IAO 2013 - The top award in the Cottage Fleece division! So yeah - he has WON a whole rack of ribbons for us, but really? What I am excited about is his fantastic fineness and the consistency of that fineness thru out his fleece and colored fibers - they are ALL fine... beautiful hand, stocky bone, BEST HEAD IAO 2011!! so yeah - really nice head too.. and all that color... and all those ever so famous ancestors - what a pedigree this boy has - very deep - very proven.. I simply can't wait to get MY first offspring on the ground - he is going to ROCK our colored huacaya breeding program. Check out his pedigree, look over his winnings.. if you had a chance to get look at his fleece while he was on our show string! Well you KNOW its good. We have 2 of his offspring in our foundation APPY herd. He is listed for sale for the first time! Since we are only breeding for APPY now in our huacayas.

Dam: Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay

Multi-Champ Fawn, Awesome Fleece, Color!

Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
DOB: 10/24/200618 yrs
Having lost to Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay (aka "Suzy") several times in the show ring, I was honored to be able to buy her at the 2008 AOBA auction! She is a light fawn female with a well-balanced medium frame. She has a dark fawn spot on her right front leg--some would say she is dark fawn with a large light fawn spot. She certainly can pass dark genetics, as demonstrated by her multichampion TB son, Torrefacto! Suzy's pedigree is outstanding--her sire is Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Sapa, producer of many champion offspring, and her dam is an Accoyo Vengador daughter with several champion crias. Suzy has that "in your face" crimp and definition of bundles that is sooo sexy! It has won her important championships in halter AND fleece competition. She is DENSE, with bright fleece. Look at her award-winning offspring--OH! And see that she can produce BLACK...and SILVER GREY!! She is an excellent mother and was bred again to our black champion male, Dundee's AJ Stormcat--sire of her multi champion son,Torrefacto. Suzy is spitting off now from her breeding to Stormcat! That means a cria in early July, 2018!

Description

Sonny is the beautiful light silver grey offspring of our multi-champion female, Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay and his sire is multi-champion Neversummer's American Iron, a son of Aussie .38 Special. Wini LeBreq was very impressed with his fleece at the 2016 Gold Country Gathering Walking Fleece Show, pointing out that his dark fibers were actually finer than the white fibers in his grey fleece! Selling his raw fleece has been a breeze, since the hand spinners have snatched it all up. He has very bright fleece with a silky soft handle and very nice crimp (his dam took the reserve color championship at the 2009 AOBA/International Fleece Show!) Sonny's silver grey fleece has a lavender cast to it--it really is lovely! He has a nice, level topline and a balanced/square frame with solid bone structure. Sonny has a sweet but pessimistic personality--I always say he is our "Eeyore", but he is easy to handle. Sonny would be an excellent choice as a herdsire for a small farm specializing in grey fleece, or he would make a wonderful addition to a MIni-herd for a hand spinner. Just think--all that lovely grey fleece growing in your back yard!
