Another stunning cria for Kohana - this time a male - beautiful bundling dark brown fiber. This male just continues to deliver the goods! Density, bundling, incredible fiber...even shearers are marveling at the fiber this male is leaving behind on crias! _____________________________ **Kohana's first crias are hitting the show circuit and coming home with spectacular ribbons! Following in the footsteps of daddy???? Congratulations to Nueva Dia on the blue ribbon!! ------------- Sigh. Some alpacas just get better with age. Keme Kohana (his name means Swift Thunder) is just simply one of those alpacas you want to sit back and admire all day. Handsome, stunning, beautiful (yes, even for a boy!). Color Championships and seven blue ribbons tell us that others agree. Kohana is the complete package. He has also captured the coveted trophy and distinction of first in the Bred & Owned class - over multiple champion whites - this really is a testament to an outstanding colored alpaca. This is Kohana. Kohana has remarkable conformation, outstanding fiber (brightness, density, crimp, handle, fineness) all packaged with a strong genetic base. The fiber is so dense - yet fine - that we challenge you to part the fiber to find the skin easily. We were so pleased with the judge's comment in his 2012 fleece blue ribbon winning which pointed out that even at this age he is also maintaining his fineness. Armed with an incredible IgG of 3866, Kohana was ready to take on the world when he was born. Blessed with flawless conformation, incredible fiber (soft, crimpy, bright, and dense!), and packaged with an attitude of “I’m just awesome!” He is bigger and stronger than most boys his age (or older!) and he doesn’t mind pushing them aside. He knows he reigns supreme. Yet, he is surprisingly polite and gentle. He is the son of the Queen of our Pasture (Linen) – and he learned how to rule the pastures at a young age. With multiple championship bloodlines on both the sire and dam sides, Kohana demonstrates his striking features both in and out of the show ring arena. His physical stature and build are remarkable for an alpaca his age. His color is right on dark fawn. But don’t be fooled. His lineage carries all colors. Grandsires Royal Inca Legend (MSG) and Lanark’s Expresso (DB) are just waiting to pop out. The markings on his face are perhaps from great-grandsire Drambuie (BG) or Royal Inca Legend! Don’t be shy - allow yourself the pleasure of visiting him. Look through his fiber. Marvel at this phenotypical headstyle. Ask questions about him. Inquire. Stare. But, don't ignore. He might just be the alpaca you need to bring your herd genetics into the next generation of excellence! P.S. You can also see Kohana on the new Mazuri feed bags...next to Striker, the black suri.
