PC Peruvian Knightrider

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 824488DOB: 3/18/200123 yrs
We are proud to include the Champion, 2X AOBA National ribbon-winning, full Peruvian, true black PC Peruvian Knightrider on our list of quality, colored herdsires. The son of two true black Peruvian imports, 5Peruvian Black Ice and 6Peruvian Anastasia, Knightrider offers rare black West Coast genetics in a magnificent package! Knightrider has excellent conformation and beautiful dense, crimpy fiber with great staple length and handle, particularly for a mature black breeding male. Knightrider will reside at Thistledown for breedings in Virginia from approximately November 15 - May 15 each year, spending the remainder of his time with his coowner, Susquehanna Farms in Maryland. Knightrider is the perfect choice for those breeders looking to diversify their black genetics, as his sire, 5Peruvian Black Ice, has few offspring on the East Coast. Knightrider is also one of only a handful of solid true black, full Peruvian "double-black" males in the country, with two true black parents. Proven to produce quality color, including black out of beige and medium fawn, maroon out of grey, black out of fawn/white pinto, plus dark brown out of white.

PV Caterina

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Brown
AOA# 841627DOB: 9/29/200222 yrs
A half Accoyo granddaughter of Accoyo Camilio and Victor's VAccoyo, Caterina is well-furnished in beautifully marked fleece, conformationally correct and nicely balanced with good bone. Her fiber is just gorgeous - bright, with excellent handle and well-defined crimp extending to the ends and consistent throughout her blanket. The 2003 fiber analysis of her brown fleece only, was 21.8 AFD, 4.1 SD, 18.8 CV and 2.2 > 30 microns. Cat has an outstanding solid maroon sire, and a dark fawn dam who both shear 8lbs of fiber annually. Her dam is the winner of many blue ribbons and two reserve championships, and a daughter of Victor VAccoyo, who is no longer available for outside breedings. Cat has an irresistible, well-shaped head and wooly topknot, a light brown skirt, matching shoes, earrings, eyeliner and freckles! She produced a son, Kieran, with a solid true black blanket, plus a white face and socks, from her Spring 2007 breeding with our Champion solid true black herdsire, Peruvian Knightrider. Cat was bred with our multiple award-winning, full Peruvian white male, Tundra, for her Fall 2009 cria. Tundra is already proven to produce colored cria, including solid black, with exceptional fiber characteristics.
