Royal Challenger son!
Snowmass Royal Distinction
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Dark Fawn
AOA #31140195 | DOB: 10/19/2007 (17 yrs)
Sire: SNOWMASS ROYAL CHALLANGER
How to keep improving our breeding program- that’s the challenge we are all facing as breeders. Snowmass Royal Challenger, the 2004 Futurity Color Champion, has proven himself by producing the next generation of elite colored huacaya alpacas. Son of Snowmass Royal Rose, one of the top Studs from the North American Alpaca Stud Group, Royal Challenger hails from a long line of “greats” including Hemingway and Bueno. Challenger’s dam, PPPeruvian Edelweis is a grand dam in her own right- a long time producer of champions. Royal Challenger consistently passes on his superior phenotype and fleece attributes to his offspring - superb conformation, awesome coverage, fineness, high-frequency style crimp, long staple length and beautiful brightness. Until now, Royal Challenger’s outside breedings have been extremely limited. We will be offering a total of 3 outside breedings to Royal Challenger, exclusive to clients, for the remainder of 2008. Additionally, one breeding will be available to the community at large at the rate of $7500.

Description
As described by Snowmass Alpacas, Royal Distinction is one of their 'most regal, strong, upstanding, knock out looking Royal Challenger sons'. Snowmass Royal Challenger is one of the finest standing Royal Rose sons in the US. He has produced offspring of extraordinary consistency in fineness and colour and overall extensive fine wool coverage from head to toe. Royal Challenger's 6th year histogram was a remarkable AFD 20.9, SD 4.4, CV 21.1, 3.4>30, 49.4 curvature. His lineage is unique, being a direct son of one of the finest Peruvian Allianza white import females, PPPeruvian Edelweis. He has won too many shows to list and so have his progeny.
Royal Distinction's dam, Snowmass Silky Sunshine, is the number one Quechua/Accoyo Pacabell daughter at Snowmass Alpacas. She is an extremely well put together, stand out female who sold for 49K to Magical Farms at the 2011 Snowmass Making of Champions Sale. Silky Sunshine is only one of a handful of Quechua daughters and she is truly an outstanding female and producer. Two of her offspring remain at Snowmass Alpacas. There is no better looking male than Snowmass Royal Distinction. He has an extremely dense, dark fawn fleece with great distinction in bundling and crimp. This stud has extreme coverage like his sire and dam and leads the Royal Challenger fleece weight production with 5.5lbs of sorted prime fleece and another 4.3lbs of high grade seconds.
Royal Distinction is the perfect male to bring a balance of high quality, fine fleece yield on a strong, large frame. He carries a unique and valued pedigree. Distinction's first offspring are on the ground at Sumaq Valley Alpacas (Talisman, Peach, Sultan, and Daffodil) and he is passing on his good looks and great fibre!
