A high quality grey male that we are proud to own. Correct conformation and bite, he is always standing proud. High frequency crimp with good density, staple length and fineness. Elvis is maintaining his fineness at the age of 6 he is still 24 micron. His EPD results are also good, AFD -0.758, %F>30 -3.711 MC 1.195 and MSL 1.298. Elvis will add fineness, reduce the fibres over 30 and add both crimp and staple length.

To date Elvis has 19 cria on the ground, 14 females and 5 males. In 2012 Elvis produced 3 silver grey crias from a black, a dark brown and a medium silver grey dam. 2013 had Elvis sire 2 silver grey males, 2 fawn females, 1 white female. His bloodlines consist of Peruvian Hemingway, Peruvian Snowtex and PPeruvian Javier. Elvis is a very laid back alpaca, he never starts a scuffle but will stand up for himself. He is often outdoors regardless of the weather and his male crias are following his example, they are very hardy males. Elvis won 1st place with a score of 92/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2012, the spinner commented on how very evenly coloured his fleece is. Elvis won 1st Place and Highest Score in Colour Champion with a score of 98/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2013. The judge commented "very uniform, very soft - no guard hair, hand will feel even better when washed, beautiful to work with" In 2012 Elvis was entered in two Stud Raffles and both breedings were purchased We wish that more farms would show their older males as we think they deserve the recognition for keeping such fine fibre and stats as they age. We would love to show Elvis again. Congratulation to Erilyn Alpacas on purchasing my favourite grey!

Blue Velvet is one of our foundation females. In 2012 she gave us the most wonderful tuxedo grey male cria, Blue Suede, sired by High Plains Elvis. For 2014 we bred Blue to our true black sire Kanata, they produced a lovely true black male, Bolero. Blue is a lovely medium silver grey with a few spots through her blanket, she is dense with medium crimp. Her fibre spins up into a beautiful lightweight yarn. We are anxious to see what Blue will have in 2016 from her breeding to Reflection, one of our top grey herdsires. Blue was only shown once and she placed 2nd out 8 in the Yearling Huacaya Female Grey class at the 2010 Alpaca Ontario Spring Show.

Description

Suede is a beautiful tuxedo medium silver grey male. His blanket is solid smokey grey and has a wonderful sheen to it. His fibre is very dense and great bundling. He is halter trained and has attended many farmers markets and easy to handle. Suede loves being outside even on the snowy days, just like his sire High Plains Elvis. Suedes conformation and bite are both good. Suede has lovely fine fibre. Suedes first cria is here and she is a beautiful little black girl named Koffee Krisp. Suede produced 2 excellent crias for us in 2017, Caramel Sundae and Kameron the Grey.
