Previously Co-Owned with Crescent Moon Ranch. Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears; like his name, this Stud was an ELITE male who shifted things into gears, with PERUVIAN & ACCOYO genetics to produce fine superior heavy-fleeced alpacas. He was a direct son of 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 crossed with a Full Peruvian, Peruvian Geronimo G187 daughter to give him the consistency in his fineness over a touch of a heavy fleece weight that has weighted 14 pounds in 2010. He is one of great looks on top of his beautiful fleece. He was judges twice under the amazing Julio Sumar and placed very well. When having the chance to partner with Crescent Moon Ranch (Debbie & Scott Miller) to co-own this multi-champion superstar back in 2010 we could not turn the opportunity down. Its was not everyday you got your hands on a Peruvian/Accoyo male who is a direct son of 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite. His stud fee's were offered for $7,500..... Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears was the epitome of genetic excellence, whose legacy has sadly ended on February 15, 2021. Crescent Moon & Red Granite Ranch made an incredibly tuff decision to put Shiftin down after we found his femur had shattered and was not fixable. Shiftin's progeny excelled in the show ring, earning championship banners across the U.S., including AOBA Nationals and the Futurity. His offspring proved to be the best in fleece weight, brightness, fineness, density, and consistency. We are very glad to have a few of his lead female and male offspring locked into our herd. Shiftin made a HUGE impact in the industry and we are very proud to be a part of this males legacy. Rest easy Shifty.

Crescent Moon's Channelle

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 1156553DOB: 7/6/200420 yrs
Channelle is a 5Peruvian Chaccu daughter, out of a black Chilean import Achacollo Coco. The Chaccu line has been limited in the U.S., but is well sought after and for good reason. Chaccu has an abundance of extremely dense beautiful fleece on a typey Peruvian body. Channelle is more of the same, standing strong on a large frame and producing consistently big healthy beautiful crias. Her 2008 cria, Grindin' Gears (a Shiftin Gears son) is arguably one of our best we have produced and has had an impressive show career thus far with several blue ribbons. Channelle is by far the best most reliable mother on our ranch, with easy births, TONS of milk and super attentive to her offspring. Her crias always flourish under her care. Channelle has even fostered another cria when she did not already have a nursing cria at her side. She encouraged the cria to attempt to nurse and within a short time her milk came in! This is a great asset for ANY farm! Channelle will do great paired with blacks and greys. She will bring additional fineness and density to your herd.

Description

We all know there are many lovely white breeding males out there...and whites are always tough competition in the show ring. This guy is hanging tough though with the big dogs through some very big shows. Given his DNA, and paired with the right females we think he could really produce some spectacular crias. Son of the incredible Crescent Moon's Shiftin Gears, and out of a lovely Chaccu daughter, this boy really has some potent genes and the fleece to back it up. His fleece scores consistently well in all categories in every show, i.e. brightness 8.5 out of 10, density 4 out of 5, uniformity 17.5 out of 20, fineness/handle 17.5 out of 20, crimp 8.5 out of 10. If you're looking for a herdsire to buy or even just a breeding or two, you really owe it to yourself to do the research on this male. You'll get a lot of excellent genetics and the fleece to back it up for a price that is a HUGE value. Call or email with any questions...I'd be glad to share any of his scores, judges comments, and can send fleece samples. UPDATE: All of Gears' offspring have been the dam's color or darker! And he is throwing his fleece traits too!
