We were extremely lucky to purchase ELK Royal Cheetah from Double O Good Alpacas, son of Royal Fawn. Cheetah began life as a Light fawn animal with black appaloosa markings. At his first shearing, we were blown away by his transformation into the medium rose grey color he retains today. To say that Cheetah is stunning is an understatement! Cheetah is a genetic powerhouse. Anyone serious about breeding alpacas will recognize his sire full Accoyo Royal Fawn. Some would argue that no other alpaca in the country has had as much impact on the industry as PPPeruvian Royal Fawn. His progeny boast 108 known champions and 329 blue ribbons in every solid color group. PPPeruvian Royal Fawn was the 1999 and 2000 "Get-of-Sire" winner at the AOBA National Show, and record breaking highest selling male in alpaca history in October, 2005. On ARI as of March 2014, Royal Fawn has 456 registered offspring. Including Cheetah, only eleven are grey. His dam is Snowmass Sunrise Cabernet, who hails from the Snowmass breeding program. Sunrise Cabernet has a long line of elite-fibered greys in her background. Cheetah has solid conformation with a heavy bone structure, level topline, straight legs and correct bite. He has the classic huacaya look we all know and love. Cheetah has a fine fleece for his richness of color. He has a high frequency of crimp with an impressive staple length. We started Cheetah's breeding career last year and are proud to announce that he gave us a beautiful medium rose grey girl named Ginger, out of our white dam, El Duro's Summer. We look forward to seeing his future offspring. Cheetah has been successful in the show ring. His lowest placement was a 5th place showing at the North American show, when he was shown as a Fawn and Black Appaloosa; his gray fleece was not yet fully expressing itself. He has won two 4th place ribbons and a 2nd in the halter ring at highly competitive MAPACA, as well as a 1st in the Spin Off. He also won 1st place in the ring at PAOBA. Cheetah is ready to bring dynamic genetics to your breeding program!

GMFA El Duro's Summer

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 31043519DOB: 6/21/200816 yrs
An El Duro daughter, Summer carries the bright, low micro fleece characteristic of his offspring. She is crimpy, well-covered and dense. Her bloodline includes Hemingway as her maternal great grandsire, and she is a cousin to Wellington. She is of all Peruvian heritage, except for one Australian ancestor. Summer enjoyed success in the show ring with 6th and then 3rd place finishes in the always large and highly competitive White classes. Her dam, Isabella, has retained fineness and crimp well past her 8th year, and we expect Summer will do the same, especially given that El Duro and 4P Legacy make up her paternal line. Rare El Duro genetics combined with Hemingway and an "easy keeper" persona make Summer a great foundation female for any program. Summer has produced 5 cria for our farm and is an excellent mother.

At 6 months, something made us take another look, and sure enough, she changed colors on us just like her sire. She is a beautiful and fine medium rose grey. Her sire, Cheetah, is a genetic powerhouse. Cheetah is one of only eleven grey offspring of the legendary Royal Fawn. His dam, Sunrise Cabernet, who hails from the Snowmass breeding program.
