We named him "Crown Prince" for a reason. Out of our black AOBA Reserve Color Champion, Boadicea, he has the fiber and conformation to make heads turn. His dam Boadicea was the queen of the show circuit in 2000 with folks waiting at the ring to purchase her as she won yet another blue ribbon. We made the decision to keep her as part of our foundation stock. She has rewarded that decision time and time again with Champion cria. Dam to four cria with multiple Blue ribbons and Banners, she is just as important to Crown Prince's genetics as his famous sire, Snowmass Peruvian Casanova. Crown Prince has combined the best of his dam and sire to be an example of the fineness, density, crimp, and conformation. As a mature male he added a blue ribbon from the highly regarded Ohio Alpacafest and a Reserve Color Championship from 2009 PAOBA Breeders Showcase. We believe that he is certainly one of the finest Peruvian gray males on the East Coast. Crown Prince has many cria on the ground...80% black or gray...all looking like they are destined to challenge his outstanding show career. Several cria are already blue ribbon winners at large shows and three of them have banners to their name! Crown's 2010 histogram numbers indicate his "lingering fineness" with an AFD of 20.3. Not bad for a four year old. Crown's real value is revealed in his ability to produce show quality cria...consistently...in black and gray. 2007 HISTOGRAM: AFD 17.7; SD 3.8; CV 21.5; %>30 0.9 2008 HISTOGRAM (2 YEARS OLD):AFD 20.0; SD 5.5; CV 23.3; %>30 4.6 2009 HISTOGRAM (3 YEARS OLD): AFD 22.7; SD 4.9; CV 21.8; %>30 6.8 2010 HISTOGRAM (4 YEARS OLD): AFD 20.3; SD 5.0; CV 24.8; %>30=5.0

Description

Oooh La La…you know it when you see it – a spectacular female! You know the moment right after you swirl a glass of a freshly corked bottle of the finest Merlot and take that first sip? The velvety luxurious blend of all that is perfectly right in the world… You close your eyes and are swept away to ecstasy… That is the feeling we got the moment we laid eyes on TKAF Peruvian Madeline Merlot, who we loving call Merlie. This female is what hopes and dreams are made of for all breeders. She is a bay black gal with black points. She has a black nose, ears and feet. She is compact and square with heavy robust bone while remaining feminine. Her fleece is breath taking. Really – breath taking. She has it all and consistency consistency consistency! She has consistent rich color, tantalizing tight knotty crimp, extraordinary fineness and density that makes it difficult to get down to her skin. She is a true beauty with the best personality. Merlie is super sweet and loves to play with all her little friends. She is is using the creep feeder like a champ and growing like a weed! She loves her mommy and although she can hold her own, she does not have an alpha personality. How did she get this way? Like a fine Merlot, the perfect blend of course! We took one of our prized possessions, CPeruvian Odessa, a 98 import who has produced mostly female and mostly black and grey offspring that are amazing! Odessa is an easy breeder, birther, excellent mommy with tons of milk and is super easy to handle. Even at her most prego stages she will still walk on a lead and let me give monthly shots with no trouble. Merlie’s sire is the highly acclaimed Casanova’s Peruvian Crown Prince, a multichampion, and producer of multiple champion offspring. Crown in out of Ms Queen of the 2000 Ring, Peruvian Boadicea, a foundation female at Highland and producer of champions. His sire is the one and only Snowmass Casanova. Crown is impressive demonstrating lingering fineness with an AFD at 4 years old at 20.3! Merlie captured BLUE at her very first show!!!
