Sadly, now deceased. Firethorn will be greatly missed. He was one of the sweetest and most gentle alpacas we've ever owned and we were honored to have let him live out his last days on our farm. Thankfully we have a couple of his offspring to live out his legacy! Firethorn is a full bolivian medium fawn herdsire from the Acero Marka Bolivian line. We were so impressed with his fleece quality we just had to have him! He has very fine bundled advanced fleece from his topknot to his toes that is uniform, bright and EXTREMELY dense. Firethorn has tremendous confomation, a wonderful gait, straight legs and a classic typey head. His body is square and well balanced and he has a perfect bite. His mother is full Bolivian Acero Marka's Bonnie - out of top Canadian black herdsire, Acero Marka's Bernard. We are thrilled that in his first fleece entry - 2O05 Nationals, he easily placed above many full Peruvians from top farms! Best of all is his incredible fiber - the type that all breeders strive to add to their herd and breeding program - which exhibits high amplitude, medium frequency crimp and bundling, making it an effort to part, wonderful handle and density, yet it opens like a book in the classic style desired by breeders. His first cria from 2007, a medium brown girl, Firethorn's Willo at Pond View Alpaca Farm; his 2nd cria is a fawn girl, Firethorn's Windrush at Eagle Hollow Farm; his 3rd is a medium fawn male who is simply gorgeous, Firethorn's Oro del Rey. His 2008 cria's: a white female, a white male and two brown males. In 2009 he had a fawn male cria . In 2010 we are expecting no less than 6 more cria on the ground and we have high expectations based on his cria so far in the ring. Firethorn's crias are all doing very well in the showring.
