AOA #31490474 | DOB: 11/3/2006 (18 yrs)
Sire: CL9 Altaire
31490474<--ari-->Light Brown<--color-->Altair is a medium fawn, full Peruvian male out of Peruvian Aladdin. He is a multi blue ribbon winning male. Many of his offspring have also graced the show ring further proving his worth. He has a commanding presence at all times, his gorgeous fleece is awe-inspiring, and he has a beautiful head and a great temperament.
In January 2008, Dr. Norm Evans conducted a skin and fiber evaluation on Altair, his comments follow: “Cl9 Altair shows a density of 53.75 follicles SQ MM of skin and a S/P of 11.25 follicles SQ MM of skin. These stats are certainly above average. The 40X view shows nice symmetrical cluster structure. All views show about 50% secondary fiber medullation. Most alpacas of his age show 100% fiber medullation. The average of 100 secondary fibers measured 24.1 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged 36.4 microns. The average difference in secondary and primary fibers is 12.3 microns. At this age, we would expect the primary fibers to be a coarse. This male is very much above average and at this age 24.1 micron secondary fibers is very impressive”
