Update for 2012: Glorianna's cria for this year by Top Brass is here: a rose gray female baby we named Beatrice (for one of Queen Victoria's children). She has some speckles on her face and copper-brown markings on the insides of her back legs from her Condor line heritage. But her blanket looks solid medium rose gray/brown. UPDATE for 2011: Glorianna has just given birth to this rare rose gray female cria on 4/28/11! Look at that color. La Reina (The Queen) has little speckles on her nose and some brown areas on her legs but her blanket looks like a solid color at this time. Why wait for your gray to "turn" gray? This little girl is already, not just gray, but rose gray! Glorianna is a daughter of GLR Baranoff, a rose gray son of Gunsmoke (dark rose gray, True Black and medium brown) and Peruvian Ninochka (medium fawn and white). Baranoff is owned by Dean and Dorothy Otten of Suri Haven in Oregon. Gunsmoke is a son of the famous 4Peruvian Condor, world renowned for passing gray and pattern to his cria. Glorianna is not technically a gray as her blanket is medium fawn but even there, she is "grayish". Her fleece was given an overall Grade of 4 by the sorter in 2012. She shows gray on her neck, and in her face and legs. We have gotten lots of color in her cria, AND she has had females only. Jasmine's Lady is Glorianna's dam. She is mostly Bolivian with PppSedoso, the only Peruvian, being her paternal grandsire, and he is Full Accoyo. She has a full three generation pedigree with only suris showing, no huacaya. All of the alpacas in her pedigree are white but Jasmine has thrown a dark brown, Donya Carmenlita (a Captain Morgan daughter) and Glorianna. Both cria have the sire's color! Glorianna was bred to Pachamama's MacLuster and the result is La Reina) photo to the right). MacLuster (recently deceased) was a Macgyver (also recently deceased) son and was co-owned by us here at Enterprise Alpacas, SuperSuris in Washington State and Suri Peak in Colorado. His cria have been winning at the Futurity, the International Alpaca Odessey and every show they have been entered. Glorianna's 2011 cria is Beatrice by Top Brass, another rose gray female! She has already been sold! A free breeding is offered with this sale to any stud on our farm. We have five to choose from as Glorianna is not related to any of them! Give us a call if you would like more information on Glorianna or even to put a deposit on this knockout cria! If you would like to lease Glorianna and get some of her wonderful colored genetics, give us a call!

Description

La Reina means "The Queen". Her dam, Glorianna was named with a nickname that was given to Queen Victoria in her day. Out of respect for Her Highness, the British would not call her by her given name but would call her Glorianna Herself! I really liked the sound of that, so this dark rose gray girl was given that name. Glorianna has lived up to that with this light rose gray daughter of MacLuster, a Full Peruvian son of the fabulous Macgyver. As you can see from her photos, her blanket is light rose gray and she has patches of brown on her legs and little freckles of color on her face, courtesy of the Condor line of her sire, GLR Baranoff, himself a beautiful shade of rose gray. Reina has nice straight legs, a perfect bite and a frisky character. Her fleece is very shiny and slick. I was watching her pronk in the evening light and the movement and luster of her fleece was just amazing. Reina will soon be of of breeding age and with her purchase comes a FREE breeding to any of our unrelated studs. This means she is eligible to breed to The Count of Montecristo (white), Top Brass (rose gray) or Blade (dark brown). Would not a cria by Top Brass be just too magnificent? Give us a call, or shoot us an email on La Reina. Surely, this LIGHT ROSE GRAY girl won't last long.
