We are very excited about the offspring hitting the ground from our full Accoyo beige son of El Nino (Caligula's best son), who had a 16.3 micron fleece at one year! Dr. Norman Evans did a skin biopsy in the fall of 2005, and according to his results, Michelangelo's density is absolutely unmatched (S/P Ratio of 13.28/1 and follicle density an amazing 107 follicles per sq/mm)! One of the softest AND densest fleeces I've ever had the pleasure to touch! Multiple champion and blue ribbon winner in fleece and halter! Michelangelo had confirmed pregnancies at 22 months, and to date has many healthy CHAMPION offspring on the ground (including ROSE GREY, SILVER GREY, medium brown, light fawn, beige and white! His offspring took blues in both juvenile white male AND female classes at AOBA Nationals, and a grey took a blue at the Futurity! Judge Kevin O'Leary commented that a white Michelangelo offspring he judged at AOBA had "the finest fleece he'd had in his ring all day! Herdsire discounts from SSF do not apply to Michelangelo breedings. We will begin booking a few limited outside breedings for 2008.

Description

Legacy and Caligula bloodlines, multiple blue ribbon winners on both sides, incredible biopsy results on both sides and fleece statistics that don't disappoint. Rubicon is the first alpaca born on our farm and the first of which we have biopsy information on both his Sire and DAM. When he reaches full size we will use a skin biopsy to help determine his density. His Sire, El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo, biopsy results were off the charts. His DAM Charisma's biopsy was > 50fpm. His 24 month fiber results (4-2009) has put him in the realm of being a future herdsire for us. To accentuate our blanket business, we breed for fineness, SD and CV OVER density as we believe that fleece quality is a differentiator over fleece quantity when you consider the fact that PERU has over 96% of all alpacas.
