Augusto's Peruvian Austin
HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White

DECEASED: It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to Austin at the start of 2014. He was a very sweet gentleman and will be greatly missed by all of us here at Top Knot'ch. We are thankful for the remaining three offspring that he leaves behind and have great hopes for them.
For those of you who are Augusto fans, meet his son, Austin. Augusto (named Kansas in Peru), is no longer available for outside breedings. He was the world's highest selling Huacaya male in 2000 at $226,000 for his predictable genetic improvement of his offspring. Don Julio Berreda wrote in 2005, "I am positive that whoever buys Kansas will be satisfied." Austin is an ideal cross between Augusto and Matador (True Black). He is a handsome large frame male, weighing in around 210 pounds. He yields abundant fleece as you can see from his pictures, that is also dense, with a super bold crimp, which exhibits brightness. Some of the things we especially like about Austin is that he has a very consistent fleece throughout his body without guard hair, bundles, and nice crimp even at 10 years of age. Austin was not shown by his farm of origin due to a broken toe. He possesses the characteristic Accoyo head with a very prominant top knot. His lovely personality rounds off this package!
Austin sired six offspring. He has thrown a white to a light fawn, two whites to whites, and a light fawn to a medium brown. Austin is throwing very attractive crias. Augusta Rose, a female cria and white in color, is featured to the right, and has an exquisit fleece with bright beautiful bundles.
