The Khantender Optimo is loaded with crimp from head to toe. He has crimp between his ears, on his tail, neck, and even down to his knees on all legs, where the quality of the fleece only then begins to wane. He has a bright and shiny fleece that will light a twinkle in your eye. He has a superb balance of fineness and density. He is a cross between the lines of Caligula and Shere Khan. Great sires in his background such as: Caligula, Vengador, Oro, El Senor, Allin Capac, and The Aga Khan. His dam is a half sibling to Simba of A.L.Pacas. The Aga Khan, a White Halter 11-Time Color Champion, represents the concentrated genetics of the truly legendary Shere Khan through two American male offspring - Vengador and Allin Capac 6004. Some comments about Khantender attributed to Jude Anderson, Judge at PAOBA 2006..."excellent package of fineness and correctness coupled with conformation"...."well covered"..."dense from head to toe".. Khantender has a medium brown spot on the left side of his blanket, just under 3 inches in diameter, which we refer to as his little 'humble spot'. Although keeping him from winning higher achievments in the showring in a white class, his colored class, he has been throwing color the majority of the time. As of July 2010, he has thrown (1) Light Fawn cria, (4) Med/Dark Fawn crias, (1) Medium Brown cria, (1) Dark Brown cria, (3) White crias, and (2) Brown/White Multicolored crias. We are looking for special 1/2 interest partners to share this male. Khantender's crias are beginning to take ribbons in the shows. See offspring ribbons below. FLEECE: 2006 - AFD:18.8, SD:4.7, CV:24.8, %>30:1.6, CF:98.4% @ 7 mon 2007 - For this sample I grabbed a sample from the shear bag. Shear Weight (some skirting): 8.3 LBS $900 BREEDING FEE

Description

He was named originally for his homemade cria coat that was made from US Army digital camouflage fabric (camo, now Khamo, in keeping with the "Kh" of his sire, The Khantender Optimo). We added "Arctic" because as a white animal he certainly isn't camouflage anywhere but the winter or the arctic. He may not stand out in a snow storm but he is sure to stand out in your pasture, becuause this fellow has presence! When he is not standing regally over the female herd, he is often in hot pursuit. Even under a year in age, he knows what he is here to do, and he could be a work-a-holic for you too. His dam, Laurie, boasts the bloodlines of Bueno G173 and Elever G4552, and his sire Khantender, boasts names such as Shere Khan through Allin Capac and Vengador G4568, SPA El Senor, and The Aga Khan, Caligula G4572 through A.L.Paca's Best Ala Best and Oro G203. We made the error of shearing Khamo too late, which affected his natural fleece growth for the fall and subsequent spring shows. If we have the available resources we would like to show Khamo in the fall of 2011. Khamo is owned by Namaste Alpacas of Durham, Maine and now resides at their farm.
