Silver Shadow’s Zion is a beautiful Medium Rose Grey suri male just beginning his herdsire career. He has two generations of gray on his sire’s side and the rose comes from his dam’s brown genetics. Together they have created what is sure to be a winning hersire for a grey herd on the rise. Strong luster, solid lock, great size (212Lbs) and confirmation are only a few of his attributes. With crias on the ground he has proven to pass on his gray genetics. Silver Shadow’s boys have been doing well in the showring. Talk about passing on traits. As of 11/1/10 Zion has recorded 5 cria on the the ground. THREE ARE ROSE GREY. The mares were rose grey, beige, and dark brown. Of the thriee crias born this fall two are tuxedo, one female that is medium rose grey (Fem Fatale) and a light rose grey male (Segovia). The third cria is a pretty light brown that we refer to as Mocha brown, thus her name Mocha! Mocha! All beautiful, strong, straight, and shiny. If your looking for Rose Grey this is your Herdsire!

This big girl brought in the ribbons. She has beautiful fiber with tons of luster and tiny little pencil locks to the skin. Nice confirmation, excellent bite, and the judges agree, take a look at her ribbons. Very proud, tall and stretchy female. Zora is a great mother with lots of milk. Zora likes to be the baby sitter for all the other cria in the pen. She seems content to allow other cria to nurse along with her own. Must be really sweet milk! She has an excellent pedigree with Rose Grey GLR Baronoff as her sire and Gunsmoke as her grandsire, breed her to gray and just might get gray . Many times the beige crossed with gray will produce gray, especially when they have as much gray in their background like Zora. Zora would make a great foundation female for any Suri herd Well it worked! In mid October Zora delivered a beautiful Medium Rose Gray male to be named Segovia. As is her habit the birth was a 9:00 AT NIGHT. Segovia is NOT included in the sale of Zora but we will include a rebreeding back to Zion so you can make you're own MRG.

Description

Segovia is the second cria of one of the friendliest alpacas on our ranch, Zora. Zora is a large Baranoff daughter so she has Rose Grey in her genes. Baronoff is the son of Gunsmoke and grandson of Condor. She was breed to our Rose Grey herdsire Silver Shadow’s Zion. So what did we get? Segovia is a beautiful light Rose Grey male with a desirable tuxedo pattern. Even at this young age his fleece drapes in tight greasy locks with a strong under pinning of grey. His white face has that desirable short nose that is so hard to breed for. The white bib and face give way to a consistent light Rose Grey coloration to the tip of his tail. Segovia has the most haunting blue eyes that make you just want to hug him. Rose Grey on both side of the family make this little guy destined to pass on the grey. We’ll get him onto the show circuit in a fall 2011 show and see what the judges think but I’m pretty sure this guy would make a good start for someone who wants to breed for grey.
