Description

Daphne is a lovely dam with a golden fleece that is lustrous and fine. She has excellent fiber coverage on a substantial and well conformed body. Daphne has a terrific head with full face coverage, which she passes on to her cria. Her sturdy frame provides plenty of body capacity for birthing crias. She has no problems giving birth and is an attentive mom and good milker. Daphne’s genetics are hard to beat. Her sire is Accoyo Elite chosen by Crescent Moon to be one of their herdsires and known for maintaining his fineness. At 6 yrs of age Elite had an 18.2 micron count! Daphne’s dam, Snowmass Zinfindalia produced many high quality offspring and one of Crescent Moon’s top producing females. Daphne’s maternal grandsire is Peruvian Don Julio an internationally famous Alianza import. Don Julio was exported to Australia in 1997, so his genetics are limited in the US. He is the direct grandsire of many elite alpacas, including: Snowmass Perfection, Snowmass Legacy’s Lustroso, MFI Peruvian Jericho and Premier’s Absolute. Daphne gave birth in November 09, to a beautiful meduim brown female cria "Carmel Queen of Shangrilah", sired by SHR Redwood. This girl has crimpy soft fiber and the look of a winner. She is definitely headed for the show ring! Daphne's 2010 Histogram at age 8 years was 23.4 microns w/5.6% >30. Not too bad for her age and after having 5 cria! Due to overcrowded conditions at our ranch, Daphne and nearly all of our other dams have been kept open. Until we can reduce the size of our herd we are not able to breed. Daphne comes with a free breeding to any of our solely owned herdsires or you can take her open and breed to one of your males. Contact us for fiber samples or more info.
