Congratulations to our friend Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm, for acquiring a share of Avatar. Please contact Annie about Avatar breedings. We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. Please enjoy viewing some of his lovely crias and their fleeces, shown below. WAA Lady Blossom

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Rose Grey
AOA# 1442328DOB: 6/18/200420 yrs
Blossom is a friendly, gorgeous girl with very straight conformation, a lovely stance, and crimpy soft fiber. Blossom's sire is Elever's Balle, an awesome super dense herdsire out of PPeruvian Elever who was Get of Sire at AOBA in 1998, and his maternal grandfather was one of the most sought after Peruvian imports who sold for $105,000 back in 1994 and now lives in Australia. That bloodline is extremely limited here in the states. Those genetics coupled with her highly sought after rose grey color, make Blossom a valuable asset to our breeding program. Blossom was bred to Avatar of Delphi Alpacas for a 2007 cria. Avatar is a color champion many times over, and we were excited to be on his limited outside breeding list. The resulting cria is our Avatar's Keystone of Rockyfield, who has already won his 2 reserve championships in halter and in fleece at the Arkansas Alpaca Adventure! At the Topeka, Ks MAAS show, he won Color Champion of all the dark fleeces!! He then went to A-OK Alpaca Blastoff and won 1st place in his halter class! Blossom's 2008 cria is a beautiful clone of herself! She is a gorgeous rose gray female growing beautifully. Her first cria, Avatar's Keystone of Rockyfield is a COLOR CHAMPION and 2 time Reserve Champion!!

Description

We are really looking forward to seeing Keystone's cria in the near future. We liked him as a youngster and co-own him with Alpacas of Rockyfield Farm. Keystone was born on their farm and we are pleased to partner with them on this young stud. In his first fall of showing Keystone received a Color Championship, two Reserve Color Championships, represented in both halter and fleece showings. Keystone's coloration is a light medium brown, but tips out on his ears grey; not surprising when you consider his dam is WAA Lady Blossom, a dark rose grey (roan) female who was bred to the well known rose grey, Avatar. When looking at Keystone's fleece, it is evident he is showing signs of excellence. Keystone's fleece is exceptionally, fine & uniform with strong organization. Keystone's fleece has a long staple, carrying very high frequency character througout, with medium amplitude, above average density and brightness. The fiber holds itself in beautiful rippling bundles, has excellent handle and is consistent from back to front, top to bottom. Yes, even up the neck and into the top knot. Keystone has confirmed pregnancies - cria are on the way!! Contact us for a visit to see this young stud.
