We love Nemo. We all love Nemo, from our partners the Sweeney's at Celtic Criations to all who come to our farm. He is proud, he is stately, he is charming and he truly may be one of the smartest alpacas I have ever met. He definitely knows that he is king over his world, he controls his herd, and they all are much better behaved with Nemo around. Nemo has many wonderful traits that he passes onto his progeny, from incredible conformation, exquisite fineness, lovely crimp, and excellent density. He stamps them - and you can always tell a Nemo cria. Don't get me wrong - they aren't cookie cutters. They are distinct and they have an attitude and a presence that is recognizable to all of us. And he also passes on his great temperment and his intelligence. You know the saying that alpacas don't challenge fences? Well someone forgot to tell Nemo. He challenges them all. We swear he knows how to pick locks. He knows how to escape from any fence, gate, paddock, or arena around. I have seen him shimmy under a fence - like a marine crawling under fencing in boot camp. And he has taught his sons. And this is because he has a one track mind - girls. Here's a story: One late night Nemo decided it was time for a panty raid. And at 1am in the morning, he pried open a gate, he broke out of "camp"; and led 12 very very happy males over to the girls barn. The girls were thrilled, the boys were thrilled, perhaps I wasn't as thrilled......I had to get them all back. I know he was the instigator because i saw him do it. But to his credit, he also helped me corral one of the most indignant boys and get him haltered and led back down to the boys barn. Nemo pranced back to the boys barn, as proud as could be. Ever since that night Nemo has been my buddy. Nemo has many fine attributes other than being a girl loving escape artist. Nemo is as rare as they come... Full Peruvian, solid dark rose grey!!! This male has it all...color, fineness, crimp, charisma, presence, and attitude! His fleece (18.6 micron 2006) has a uniform fine handle and crimp. And at the age of 7 his micron came back at 22! Amazing--now that is lingering fineness! He has consistent grey fiber throughout his blanket. His sire, 5Peruvian Santana, is an AOBA 2000 Blue Ribbon winner in halter competition and the AOBA 2003 and 2004 Blue Ribbon fleece. His dam, Dona Perlas, was the 2001 PAOBA Breeders Showcase Reserve Color Champ for grey females. Her sire is 6Peruvian Dom Timbo 5042, a superb dark silver grey hersire owned by Magical Farms. This guy has inherited the best from both parents with impeccable fiber, conformation and presence. And Nemo's kids are great. He is producing champions and ribbon winning prgeny. Here is a sampling: 3x champion/reserve Lord Stirling (CMSG) 10x blue ribbon, Silver Crown (MMRG) 2x reserve champion, 3blue ribbons, Celtic Criations BlackSod Reserve Champion, 5x blue ribbon winner, CCABC Bombay's Black Betty, Reserve Champion Safona, Prince Dakkar 3x b

Dam:

Autumn's Calliope of Peru4

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Silver Grey
AOA# 120862DOB: 10/6/200420 yrs
Callie is a lovely soft silver gray girl (with a touch of rose in her) with a super pedigree boasting CPeruvian Silvino, PPeruvian Felix and PPeruvian Caligula. She is curious and playful with an engaging personality. She has good conformation, bite and an impressive topknot, plus that hard to find, gorgeous silver fiber, and she is bred to our very own Captain Nemo. Callie's sire is P.Peruvian Pewter, a silver gray, who has an adult micron of 15! Calliope was blessed with her sire's fine, soft fiber and plenty of it! Calliope's dam is a very gentle female with all the wonderful aspects you hope for in a production dam. She is an easy breeder, great milk producer, patient, attentive and easy going. Calliope is sure to carry on these great traits. What more can you ask for if you are looking for grey? A full peruvian silver grey (with a little rose tint). Callie made a Nemo "mini me" for her first cria. Same color, same stance...what an attractive boy! We named him Prince Dakkar. We again bred the two and got a delightful girl named "Glory". She is currently open and ready for your choice to breed. You will love the crias!!

Description

Prince Dakkar (sigh....) what a handsome boy, and he is Captain Nemo's mini-me!! A dark rose grey full peruvian boy. Just adorable. and what lineage!! Nemo, Santana and Dom Timbo on the sires side. and on the dam's side; Peruvian Silvino, P.Peruvian Pewter, Felix and Caligula. Interesting combination. This boy has great potential. Prince Dakkar took a blue in his first show. We had to pull him from shows in the 2009 spring season- because his fleece hadn't been cria tipped - and was felting at the ends. He is doing really well at both fleece and halter shows.
