Sinopsis Nocturna is jet black and fine. His outstanding fleece was recognized at the 1999 AOBA conference, where it was awarded the blue ribbon. This proud stud has produced 100% black offspring from black dams and many black crias from dams of other colors. His crias have beautiful heads, and elegant presence. Marylu is a beautiful true black daughter of the renowned herdsire Dark Shaddow. We purchased her unproven at 16 months old and she proved herself to be the best investment Blue Star Alpacas has made. Marylu took 3rd place in a class of 8 at the North American Alpaca Show 2006 (the only time she was shown). Marylu's first breeding was to Snowmass Nova (true black herdsire) and resulted in Blue Star's Marian, another true black beauty who won a blue ribbon at NAAS 2008 and a red ribbon as NAAS 2009. Marylu's second cria was sired by the legendary Sinopsis Nocturna (also a true black herdsire). This bay black male, with perfect conformation, gorgeous typey head, and fine crimpy fleece was promptly named Blue Star's Paragon Son of Sinopsis. He won a 4th place ribbon at NAAS 2010 in a class of 9. Marylu's 3rd cria was sired by Jetson (another true black herdsire) and, while we understandably hoped for another true black cria, this one came out beige! Blue Star's Davin is conformationally perfect, just like his siblings, with a very dense, bright and very fine crimpy fleece. Marylu has proven to be the ideal production female. She breeds easily, delivers unassisted, is a terrific milker and a most attentive Mom. She passes on her perfect conformation, beautiful head, and dense fleece.
