Barnabus now has 7 “Get of Sire” wins including a win at the ’09 GWAS show, the largest alpaca show in the US – 22 entries! He took his his 3rd Get blue ribbon at the ’09 Great Western Show with 3 perfect juveniles, Xanadu P. Cachet, Xanadu P. Mistral and Xanadu P. Encanto. The little “cookie cutter” trio went on to win “Breeder’s Best as well. Amazing Fleece! We were delighted to be able to purchase this remarkable herdsire at the AAA Futurity Auction in 2004, and are pleased to be standing him in West Virginia. He has the best one year micron we’ve ever seen: 12.8 mic; 2.6 SD, 20.4< & 0.3% + 30 microns at 2 years of age its 16.5 mic, 3.0SD, 18.2CV and 0.3% + 30 mic, and at 4 years of age, after 2 years of breeding, it's a wonderful 19 mic., 3.6 SD, 18.9 CV, 99.5 CF and a CRV of 53.2. Not only is his fleece fine, it was loaded with character, completely uniform throughout the blanket and thoroughly bundled. This boy is the son of PVA Wellington, who is an Accoyo Augusto son, and he has lots of color in his background, too. He now has over 50 crias on the ground, and they're breath-taking and always carry fine fleece. We co-own him with Xanadu Farm Alpacas, and he stands with us in West Virginia from March through September.

Marta's Surprise & male cria

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 1121292DOB: 7/30/200420 yrs
Marta's Surprise is a 7 year old, light fawn female, 7/8 Peruvian - 1/8 Chilean. Her sire is HDF Michaelangelo and her mom is HDF Marta. Surprise's lineage includes the legendary El Moustachio. Surprise sells with her white, 4 month old male cria, Gabriel, sired by light fawn Still Meadows Gil Berto. His sire is well-known Snowmass Legacy's Golden Boy and his dam is Hillary. Surprise was born here and has proven to be an outstanding female and a joy to care for. She has an easy-going disposition, is easy to breed and has had three normal births. She is a good milk producer and a very attentive mom. She has given us three males so far, two of whom are ribbon-winners, Sir Bravo and Prince Patton. Surprise has correct conformation, with nice straight legs and correct bite. Her fleece has a wavy crimp, lays in nice large locks, and has a flat, unstretched staple length of 5". Her fleece has a luster to it and feels very soft. We did not get a shearing weight on her last year, but her raw blanket sold easily. Surprise is a pleasant female and would be a great foundation mom for any alpaca herd. Don't miss out on the opportunity to bring her to your farm at this greatly reduced price.

Description

We would like to thank our dear friends at Haven Hill Alpacas for allowing us to purchase this wonderful herdsire. He will be arriving in Missouri soon! Sir Bravo is a proven, beige herdsire, 15/16 Peruvian 1/16 Chilean. His sire is Maple Brook Barnabus, who at one time held the record for the best one year alpaca histogram ever seen - 12.8 mc. His dam is Marta's Surprise, granddaughter of El Moustachio. Bravo has great conformation and looks, but his greatest asset is also his quality fleece characteristics. His micron count in 2008 was 17.2. He has very fine, lusterous locks with very visible, bold crimp and a flat, unstretched staple length of approximately 4 1/2". Bravo placed 2nd in a class of 14 at the 2009 AOBA National Conference Spin-off. He had a perfect score in Fineness, Ease of Spinning, Hand feel, and Brightness. Judge's comments included "lovely, spins easily and consistently, love the feel." She commented also that he was probably in the wrong color class because he was color checked once as white and thus placed in the white spin-off class instead of beige. If he had been in the beige class, who knows, he just might have taken the blue! Bravo offers excellent personal qualities as well as outstanding lineage. He has successfully bred 4 females, with his first crias due to arrive this June and July. Save BIG and purchase one of the 5 breedings available at a 10% discount!
