10# of fleece per year
Mr. Butterscotch
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Light Fawn, Dark Fawn
AOA #30320970 | DOB: 9/15/2005 (19 yrs)
Sire: My Peruvian Zephyrus
30320970<--ari-->Appaloosa<--color-->Full Peruvian
Zephyrus has the most amazing color combinations we have ever seen on an alpaca. He is a dark rose gray appaloosa with dark spots like chocolate chips covering his body and muzzle. He's inherited his supurb fleece qualities from his sire, DPA Quetzal owned by Magical Farms. He is extremely dense with a well-defined consistant crimp throughout his blanket. He is a large boned male with a striking presence, but a calm & gentle personality. Zephyrus has done very well in the show ring and has now retired to a career of breeding. We think this suits him just fine.

Dam: Kalabasa D700 AOA
30320970<--ari-->White<--color-->Kalabasa is a beautiful female with gorgeous fiber and great conformation. Kalabasa has had 3 healthy offspring, 2 females and a male. Bred to My Peruvian Zephyrus (full Peruvian, multi-blue ribbon winner and color champion), she gave birth to Mr. Butterscotch, a white and fawn appaloosa male (IGG 2300) on September 15, 2005, who won blue at PAOBA in his shorn class and in fall '06 was awarded the blue ribbon, this time in full fleece (2006 SEPA).<--description-->
Description
When we saw Mr. Butterscotch (we call him Scottie) for sale, it was love at first sight. He is the exact macho phenotype that we like, and best of all, he's wearing appaloosa fiber. With our first shopping spree for appaloosas, we spotted Scottie's sire, but were too slow to react. And now we're glad we did because Scottie appears to have all his sire's good features plus a few more.
Mr. Butterscotch exhibits great conformation and fleece quality, especially in luster and staple length (with over 10 pounds shorn in spring '08). He won blue ribbons twice in Spring '06 in shorn classes and most recently in full fleece. At SEPA, the judge commented on the size and strength of this male and his soft, dense and crimpy fleece.
