Appaloosa--may be a rare homozygous one
Enchanted Hill Spek Tacular (Appaloosa)
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Medium Fawn, Dark Fawn
AOA #30515536 | DOB: 6/5/2007 (17 yrs)
Sire: Xus (AKA Spot)
30515536<--ari-->Appaloosa<--color-->Pattern, 842062, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian
Spot, as we call Xus, joined our herd in the spring of 2005. He almost immediately settled three of our females.
Spot's dense fleece is amazingly free of guard hair, and as can be seen from his fiber analysis, the character of his fleece is much like that of a soft cria. When his fiber is spun into yarn, the colors blend to produce a lovely dark fawn color. And talk about how it feels against the skin...Wow!!!
The most special feature of Spot's fleece is his appaloosa pattern. His spots are prominent and numerous--just like we wanted. All of his crias will be special, but those that inherit his spots will be super special and quite unique! Check out his son, Enchanted Hill TyeDye (in our "Sold" list), who not only inherited his father's spots, but his wonderful temperament as well.

Dam: Maya's Yasmina
30515536<--ari-->Appaloosa<--color-->Pattern, 1392838, 1/4 Bolivian, 3/4 Peruvian
Yasmina is a gorgeous beige with slightly darker appaloosa spots on her neck and feet. Her fiber has beautiful crimp, is lustrous, and has great handle and density.
On the male side of the family, Yasmina has Tell Hot Shot as her father, NGG Lional as her grandfather, and Peruvian Bueno as her great grandfather. On the dam's side is her wonderfully fibered mom, Raquel's Maya. Maya's sire is Victor's Vaccoyo. Here is a quote from Vaccoyo's owners, the Fellers of Sunset Hills Farm: "VICTOR VACCOYO is a full Accoyo macho who consistently transmits his phenomenal fleece characteristics of deep bold crimp and extreme density to his offspring. He is a renowned sire of Show Ring Champions, both in the United States and Canada. The son of PPeruvian Victor, this male is probably one of the best Victor son's now available for stud in the US"

Description
Speks, as we call this little fellow, is a gorgeous appaloosa. Even by the second day of his life, he was showing the square conformation, erect ears, and cocky attitude of a budding stud. His fiber is fine, crimpy, and lustrous. Instead of the more typical larger spots of an appy, Speks is covered from head to toe with little spots and specks.
Speks is a wonderful combination of Peruvian, Bolivian, and Chilean genetics. His ancestors include such greats as Hemingway, Don Julio, Bueno, and Victor. Both of Speks's parents are appaloosas with wonderful fiber, great conformation, and calm personalities. With a good possibility of Speks being homozygous for the appy trait, we are ready for this young fellow to grow up and into his studly demeanor.
