Mr. Personality Plus, alias "Bo", is probably the calmest herdsire you'll ever meet. On top of that, Bo has incredibly dense, crimpy fiber from head to toe. And finally, those unique appaloosa spots make him completely one-of-a-kind. This spring, Bo settled several females (confirmed by ultrasound) and we can hardly wait for the crias to make their appearance. Oh! If only you could see spots and plumbing with ultrasound!

Abba's Splash Dance

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige, Medium Fawn
AOA# 1180510DOB: 8/22/200420 yrs
After checking out every available appaloosa huacaya female, we settled on Splash Dance, an absolutely spectacular girl. We are so happy and proud to have added her to the Enchanted Hill Herd. Splash Dance, aptly named for the splashes of fawn on her beige fleece, is a lovely young female with loads of color and solid genetics in her background. Her sire is a son of White Out and Peruvian Ginger Snap. Her dam, Golden Delicious, is the daughter of Peruvian Platinum and Colorado Estelene. Splash's fleece is extremely soft with good staple length and with wonderfully uniform, tiny crimp. At two years of age, she exhibits both good size and bone and will be bred in the fall for a 2007 cria. Update: After three healthy crias, Splash is again ready to breed. We'd recommend one of our appy males, but she'd pair well with Avery for a rose grey cria possibility. You pick the herdsire, and we'll do the breedings until we have a positive ultrasound.

Description

Genetically, Solstice may be the rarest of rare. Both of his parents are phenotypic Appaloosas, so Solstice has a good chance of being homozygous for the appy gene. With the recent heightened interest in the Appaloosa pattern, this little fellow could be worth his weight in gold! Bred to the right fawns and beiges, one could possibly breed 100% Appaloosas using Solstice. Wow!!!!!!! Now that we've gawked at the spots and it's associated genes, don't forget to look at conformation and fiber. His sire is "thick as a rug" and his dam is as "soft as a kitten", and it looks as if Solstice has the best of both. He also has great conformation, with that "I'm-going-to-grow-into-a-stud" look. Appy breeders need to take a long look at this fellow.
