Our search for Celestia began when we became enamored with Tell Hot Shot, a super Canadian stud bred and shown by Judge Jane Tellier. Not only were we fascinated with his conformation, fiber, and color, we found that Hot Shot also carried the same appaloosa gene that had been passed down by his equally well-known sire, NGG Lional. On the male side of the family, Celestia has Tell Hot Shot as her father, NGG Lional as her grandfather, and Peruvian Bueno as her great grandfather. On the dam's side is her wonderfully fibered mom, Tell Dominique. Dominque's sire is Victor's Vaccoyo. Here is a quote from Vaccoyo's owners, the Fellers of Sunset Hills Farm: "VICTOR VACCOYO is a full Accoyo macho who consistently transmits his phenomenal fleece characteristics of deep bold crimp and extreme density to his offspring. He is a renowned sire of Show Ring Champions, both in the United States and Canada. The son of PPeruvian Victor, this male is probably one of the best Victor son's now available for stud in the US" In the spring of 2006, Victor's Vaccoyo was selected to be in the IAO Elite Herdsire Services Auction. His breeding sold for a well-deserved six thousand, five hundred dollars. Celestia has produced three crias for our herd. The first, a male named Albert, has been sold for use as a herdsire. The second, Little Dipper, is now for sale. The third, Gift, will be retained in the Enchanted Hill Herd.

We have been looking for a new addition to our appaloosa line-up, and when we found Confetti, it was time to make a move. He'll be arriving in Virginia soon and we are hoping he will be ready to settle some girls in the spring. Take a look at his cria photo, and tell us you wouldn't want a pasture full of cuties like that. Along with Bo and Speks, we think we have a super line-up of appy herdsires, and we picture one day having nothing but appaloosa adults making up the whole breeding herd. Here is the description from his breeder: "Confetti, what can I say.... he is ADORABLE. He is every color on the chart, not one pattern, sparkled and speckled everywhere - even his nose and ears! WOW. He is such an eye catcher. He is also perfectly conformed, with a stocky build and heavy bone. His ears are fluffy and fiber covers him to his toes in very DENSE lush multicolored softness. He is a true American beauty and honestly I have never seen an alpaca as handsome as this one." Stay tune for more photos and a longer description.

Description

Enchanted Hill Little Dipper arrived May 12th, 20008, full of vitality. Her sire is Derwydd Peruvian Novio, a fantastic male produced by two Peruvian imports, the male being a son of Don Julio's Shere Kahn. Dipper's dam, Dominique's Celestia, purchased from Canada, has these well-known alpacas in her pedigree: Hot Shot, Lional, Bueno, Victor, Victor's Vaccoyo and Tumbleweed Brew. Dipper has wonderful fiber (samples available) that has produced some fantastic yarn (Joanie has knit and woven with it). Bred to our appaloosa, Bodacious, Dipper is due in late May. That cria has 1/2 chance of being an appaloosa and should be a show stopper no matter what color it is. Dipper produced a beautiful male cria in May. See his listing as "Dibo", in the For Sale portion of our website. Dibo has sold as a potential herdsire. Fall 2013 update: With an ultrasound on November 1, 2013, Dipper is confirmed bred to our harlequin appaloosa, Vintage Peruvian Confetti. Boy! What a cria that should be!
