Iron Man had six crias in Summer 2011. One is gray, like his dam another is white, like his dam. He has thrown two exceptional light fawn crias from beige females, he has a bay black from a WHITE dam and the last is an exceptional medium fawn from a medium fawn dam. All of these crias have very fine fleece confirming our decision to use him to promote fineness in our breeding program.
Iron Man has unusually fine and dense fiber for any color much less medium brown. See the histogram included here for details. He is a half brother to the spectacular 8x Champion Lancaster’s Highland Chieftain via their dam Spinner’s Dream Nina Roche (a.k.a. Nina). Nina is a very fine fibered dark fawn foundation female. His sire is the renowned Accoyo Principe Dorato. With parents like these Iron Man was destined to be remarkable. Our thanks go to Fay Steving and Jenny Lindsay of Highland Alpaca for allowing us the opportunity to add this exceptional male to our herd. Fay and Jenny decided to try to reproduce Iron Man and ended up with a nearly carbon copy female that you will see in the show ring in 2012. Needless to say, they are pleased with the outcome.
Iron Man won a Color Championship at his first show (Best of the Midwest), and then took three more blues in the 2009 show season at the MAPACA Jubilee (largest show in the East Coast), the PAOBA Breeders Showcase and the Maryland Alpaca Celebration.
He also won 1st place and Highest Scoring Brown in the 2010 MAPACA Jubilee Spinoff judged by Kathy Kenworthy.
-- You have to feel his fleece to understand why --

We breed for beautiful black and grey huacayas, but when we saw Mirror Image as a juvenile at Brookhollow Farm, we knew we had to try producing color crias with the fleece characteristics she amazed us with. Our suspicions of her amazing fleece were confirmed when we took her to two big shows. She took FIRST PLACE as a white yearling female both times! And that was alongside a who's who of white breeders!
Blanquita is her first cria . . . You should see the dense crimpy fleece on this little one!
Mirror image has been confirmed pregnant to Dorato's Peruvian Iron Man from Flint Stone Farm. Iron Man had an amazing 16 micron fleece for the first two years - in medium brown too! He has one black cria from one white dam so far, so maybe, just maybe color???
