Description
SOLD!
One of two Mercurio offspring from the Fall 2011 cria group. Aurora might be my best period out of the fall group. Her dam is in a tie for top foundation female. Muffit gave us Eros (multiple champion), Moreno (multiple champion), Arnon (one time champion) and now Aurora. And Mercurio is about as consistent as they come for fleece production.
Aurora's first offspring was a female in 2014--an almost identical version of herself--that we named Aurelia. Aurora delivered a very nice male out of Paladin in 2015. We are hoping to see an increase in the density of her offspring with her breedings. In 2015, she sheared 3.2 and 1.2 lbs of blanket and neck respectively. Choices, choices....
Aurora showed twice in 2012. She has the type of fleece that looks beautiful in February, but then peaks early before the spring shows. Nonetheless, I believe her spin fineness would be exceptional if ever we were to measure it. She has an exceptional handle.
Aurora has perfect conformation and an outstanding phenotype. Her fleece is very fine, less than 20 microns as an adult, and she sports a vicuna style pattern. She carries a low CV and SD so the choice for grey is a good one. Aurora sells with a breeding to any LAAF Herdsire and at $14000, we are not anxious to part with her.
