Exciting news! Ricochet's pinto male cria from fall '05 (FMR Samurai) won Color Campion in Denver's Great Western in May '06 and also just took 2nd at AOBA's National Show in Louisville 2 weeks later. We also just had another Ricochet cria, a super high luster (of course!) MF female out of a LF dam. Ricochet is a Full Peruvian grandson of Inca Hoots. White with Med. Brown around his eyes and dark pigment in his nose and nails. He has some of the best lock and luster you'll see...and staple length, wow! Shorn at 18 months he had locks over 14" and at a show 3 months later planning to show for confirmation in the shorn class, he had grown too much and had to show full fleece! Shorn the second time 11 months later he had 9" locks. He settled his first females Sept. '03. The first picture is taken out in the pasture, no prep...look at the luster! His cria are exceptional! He puts a good suri head, great coverage (chin to toes), intense lock and very high luster on his cria! Note: Ricochet continues to impress us as a herdsire. We had 2 drop-dead gorgeous cria out of Ricochet in fall ('05). One is all white (Symphony's Concerto) and the other white/medium fawn pattern (Samurai) (both dams are white)...both have exceptional lock, luster and coverage; and both took 1st place at their debut show! Check out the AN site for Rancho Milagro and take a look at Peruvian Ric Roc, a Full Peruvian Ricochet cria! As Ricochet's cria continue to impress us (and the judges) we have increased his breeding fee in accordance with the quality he is producing compared to other herdsires and their fees.

Geisha is one of our favorites. We picked her up at a live auction, actually stole her! We'd never met the Walker's before, but we've been friends ever since. Out of the great Miquel, we've had two phenominal cria with Ricochet. Maybe we should have stayed with the known results, but we tried this breeding on Lunar Eclipse. This cria will be his first, so we're sure anxious to check out this breeding. Geisha has an unbelievable personality, very easy to handle; but her confirmation, brilliant luster, tight lock and great hand make her a real keeper...or a high sale! Note: Geisha had an extremely nice MF/W Pinto male out of Accoyo Diamond Man, extreme luster, lock, hand, coverage...very similar to Samurai.

Description

WE knew Samurai was special the moment he hit the ground! Coverage, hand, blinding luster, density, staple...he just does not have any shortcomings. We were of course anxious to get him into the ring to see how he stacked up against the competiton; and we were not disappointed...well, maybe a little as you'll see. His debut show was in Arkansas at a new show, not much competition, but Judge Diana Timmerman said his Blue was very much deserved and regretted he did not have the competion to prove it. Well, a few weeks later in Denver at the GWAS he was First against some very tough competition. Judge Jane Tellier had previously made us a little nervous when she stated that she rarely gave championships to juveniles as they could change so much over the next year or more. To make matters worse, they combined the patterns and grays for the championship, so there were many outstanding animals in the ring when Jane awarded him the Champion banner...made all that much sweeter with her previous comments and all the fine competition. We came off that high to AOBA Nationals. Judge Amanda Vandenbosch took a very long time to determine the winner; alas, Samurai got second. While we were somewhat disappointed...hey, a second place at Nationals is nothing to sneeze at! After shearing, Samurai is growing out very nicely, good tight lock, staple...we anticipate he will be showing full fleece by late October, something his sire (Ricochet) has always done. I think staple is something many people overlook...Samurai has 8" of fleece 11 months after shearing! Samurai continues to place First in shows this spring, you can see his impressive show record below. We are SO anxious to see how he does as a herdsire.
