Ark's Sara Bella

HuacayaBred (Female)Bay Black
AOA# 1117615DOB: 6/24/200420 yrs
This blue ribbon winning female has fleece that shows outstanding brightness-- so much so that she looks wet. She had a fine show career in 2005. Her first cria, a female McGwire cria, Ark's B'Gwire, was sired by the Victor son McGwire. She is a beautiful dark fawn! B'Gwire placed first in the dark fawn juvenile class at 2007 Spring Fling under Amanda Vandenbosch. B'Gwire did extremely well in the remainder of the spring shows and sold at the Great Midwestern Alpaca Festival in Madison to Wisconsin. Sara Bella was bred for a 2007 cria to the outstanding grey male, Emerald Farm's Orlando Cloud. Orlando, also a McGwire son (Victor grandson), stood at stud at Alpacas of the Ark until May, 2007. This incredible grey male has the most bundled, dense and crimpy fleece that we have observed in grey animals. His extremely large bone and balance make him a top stud prospect--even before his first crias arrive in the fall of 2007. Sara Bella's 2007 cria, Silver Bell, lived up to expectations and placed second in a large grey female yearling class at Northern Illinois Extravaganza--her only show. She sold to Wisconsin at the Illinois show. Sara Bella's 2008 cria, Ark's Harriet, is the result of her breeding to our seven time color champion, Splendour in Gray. This resulting grey cria has extreme fineness, denseness, and brightness. Sara is bred again to Splendour in Gray for an October, 2009 cria.

Description

This fine young medium grey female has "The Look"! Her beautiful "bubble head" has fiber everywhere and the density and coverage on the remainder of the alpaca are outstanding. Her fiber is extremely dense and fine with good crimp structure. Silver Belle not only has the outstanding alpaca phenotype, but she also is the P.R. animal for our farm--always the first to come up to check out visitors. Her mother, Ark's Sara Bella, is Linda's favorite alpaca on our entire farm and also has the same mild inquisitive disposition even as an adult. The mother, a Silver Charm daughter, is a bay black alpaca who was a blue ribbon winner in her show career. Her fiber has the appearance of wetness with brightness and a glistening look. This same brightness trait has been passed on to the daughter, Silver Belle, except in a grey color.
