Wee Lassie is a rare Canadian beauty who has proven to be an excellent producer - her latest cria Jaguar is a BLACK COLOR CHAMPION. She is just what we were looking for when we found her in Saskatoon at just six months of age. Her lineage includes the best of Canadian, Peruvian, and Australian genetics - and she can produce color! Her heritage includes Amadeus, Jolimont (Australian) Cinema, Jolimont Pauco, White Lightening (AOBA White Champion), Javier (Canadian Grand Champion) and many more. If these names are not familiar to you, ask us - there's a lot to tell.
Lassie has dense bone, a correct bite, and she is well proportioned. Her fleece is fine and dense and she passes this on to her crias. One thing we wanted was the characteristics of a white fleece in a colored alpaca and she was able to deliver.
At Dundee Farm we have seen first hand how this outcrossing to proven and rare genetics produces a hybrid vigor in our crias. They are robust, healthy, and problem free. As farmers, we appreciate that. Lassie's crias have all been strong and they thrive. She is an excellent Foundation Dam.
