UPDATE: Rio's first crias are here and look great! The genetic potential of this full Peruvian male is awesome! He brings together the strengths of the Accoyo(Caligula and Leon) and Cconchatanca bloodlines. Both his dam and his sire have elite white fiber that has retained fineness as they have matured. At the fourth shearing his sire's histogam was AFD=18.3 SD=3.6 CV=19.7% CF=99.7% >30=0.3%!!!! As if that wasn't enough, Rio has a terrific dam, too. Phyllis is one of our outstanding foundation females, representing the awesome result of an Accoyo/Cconchatanca match. Description

White from a white color pedigree...believe it or not, this color pedigree isn't that easy to find! We were fortunate to find this lovely, feminine female. And in June of 2006 her first cria was just what we had hoped for...a lovely, pure white female by Accoyo Chapparal. Darinetta is the fabulous fourth daughter of Maplewood Farm Alpacas' 1994 import foundation female, Peruvian Malu, a producer of great white fleeces and outstanding crias. Nettie has pleasant conformation, proportions, balance, and size. Her fleece has beautiful character and brightness, and covers her from top knot to toes. Her sire, Beligado, was honored with a Reserve Championship at the very competitive Celebrity All American Alpaca Futurity in 2001. He is a proud son of Accoyo Dracula, a well known Accoyo male from the 1995 Importation. As we expected, Darienetta has proven to be a wonderful dam. She has been a great mother and bred back easily. In June, Darinetta gave birth to an exceptionally nice male cria, sired by our White Color Champion, Avalon's Peruvian Tri-Star. Her son, Avalon's Peruvian Draco, is outstanding with great presence, and gorgeous bundled fiber. We can't wait to take him in the showring! We look to Darinetta to have many strong, healthy, and beautifully fleeced crias in the years to come. She will be a nice addition to any foundation herd.
