Although we no longer have access to Cuzco for breeding we are leaving him in our active list of males because we still have several of his progeny on the ranch. He has had a profound positive influence on our breeding program. Would your breeding program benefit from the infusion of solid foundation genetics, fabulous fiber characteristics, and a great temperament? Cuzco's fiber is dense with significant crimp, great staple length, brightness and soft handle. Add a great temperament and you have a real nice package of desirable traits. OUTSTANDING AND LIMITED GENETICS: Cuzco is sired by AOBA International 2001 Color Champion Eastwinds Andino (818131) a Pachacuti son (both deceased) and out of Chaccuna, our 5Peruvian Chaccu (deceased 2011) daughter, and PPeruvian Vengador granddaughter. APPEALING PHENOTYPE: Cuzco's well-balanced conformation is correct with nice straight legs and solid bone. His fiber is dense with significant crimp, great staple length, and nice soft handle. CHECK HIS FIBER STATS: It isn't often that you see the fiber stats of a 9 year old breeding male emphasized but we think you will be impressed. AFD 23.4, SD 4.5, CV 18.6, SF 22.3 %>30 6.3 It is no wonder we turn to him to improve fineness and handle. PRODUCES COLOR when bred to color...so far 100% of the time. Cuzco's 2013 histogram for his white male cria Razzmatazz: AFD 16.8, SD 3.7, CV 21.8, %>30 0.6 CF: 99.4 TEMPERAMENT: We believe temperament is highly inheritable and we pay special attention to the temperament of the herdsires we use. Cuzco is very well-mannered and extremely easy to handle, even during breeding. We invite you to call (530-620-6033) for more information and to check out our web site (www.alpacasomersetfarm.com) to learn about the benefits of working with us on your alpaca purchases and breedings. We are flexible and will work with your individual needs.

Sleeping Lady's Rondezvous

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Brown
AOA# 805881DOB: 9/3/1998
ATTRIBUTES: Low maintenance no- muss, no-fuss production female. Solid and dependable producer of healthy and thriving cria. Brings fineness, uniformity, and consistency to the fiber equation. Great disposition. PRODUCTION FEMALE TRAITS: Solid Foundation Female. Most foundation herds have their matron and "Rondezvous" is ours. When it comes to a production female "Rondie" has it all. Easy breeder, maintains her pregnancies, unassisted births, abundance of milk, maintains weight while nursing, attentive, and her cria are strong from the get-go. Basically a low maintenance, no-muss, no-fuss production female. If you are looking for a solid, dependable producer you have found it in Rondie. PHENOTYPE: Rondie is medium-sized, well-balanced, with strong straight legs. She carries herself with a great deal of pride and has large luminous eyes that will melt your heart. FIBER: To do right by Rondie, I have to break her fiber characteristics out separately. When we purchased Rondie she was 7 years old and did not come with histogram results. At that age we could feel a nice handle but her fiber lacked definition and length. As newbies, we purchased her based on who she was bred to and weren't thinking that much about her fiber quality. Lucky for us that didn't turn out to be a disastrous mistake. Her 2005 cria, Valedar's Prince (WH) maintains one of the best "fiber stats" of our herd. 2006 Fiber Results: Micron 18.1 SD 3.4 CV 18.8 >30% 0.9 2007 Fiber Results: Micron 17.7 SD 3.5 CV 19.8 .30% 0.8 2008 Fiber Results: Micron 20.1 SD 4.4 CV 21.9 .30% 2.2 Her 2007 cria Sundance Kid (MF) fiber stats are just as impressive especially when you consider he is a Medium Fawn 2008 Fiber Results: Micron 22.5 SD 4.1 CV 18.2 .30% 3.7 2009 Fiber Results: Micron 20.3 SD 4.3 CV 21.5 .30% 1.9 Both of the sires are known for fineness but we wanted to know what Rondie was bringing to the equation. In 2009, at 11 years old, we ran our first histogram on her. Well, it is no wonder we have been getting these results. Are you ready for this...at age 11 and being a light brown: AFD 26, SD 5.7, CV 21.8, CF 15.2...Not bad for an old gal! TEMPERAMENT: Calm in the herd and very easy to handle.
