IF YOU ARE BREEDING FOR FINENESS AND UNIFORMITY...check out his EPD Results as a seven year old breeding male: Top 1% %F>30 -8.246 (77 of 14637) Top 3% AFD -1.877 (238 of 14637) Top 3% SF -1.798 (330 of 14637) Would your breeding program benefit from the infusion of solid foundation genetics, fabulous fiber characteristics, and a great temperament? Genetics, good fleece characteristics, balanced conformation, great temperament...it doesn't get much better than this GENETICS: "Latte's" dam Paradise Ridge Chaccuna (ARI: 832574), is a 5Peruvian Chaccu (deceased 2011) daughter and a Vengador granddaughter. "Latte's" sire PHA Maximus (ARI: 830927) is full Peruvian (3/4 Accoyo) Max is a white Camilio son, and his dam is Peruvian Duchess a multiple Produce of Dam winner by Accoyo El Moustachio. PHENOTYPE: "Latte" is not a large male. His solid compact frame is well balanced and he presents proud carriage and presence. Although we don't consider it a flaw others might, so we need to mention that "Latte" carries a quarter-size rose gray spot in his blanket. FIBER: "Latte" has excellent dense coverage head to toe. On his second fleece he sheared 10% of his body weight. He is passing his bundled high frequency, high amplitude fiber characteristics on to his progeny. His only two cria have the two lowest micron counts on the ranch. Latte's 2009 light fawn female "Latte's Mocha Twist" (see side bar picture) 2011 histogram report: AFD 18.7, SD, 4.9, CV 26.3, %>30u 2.4 Her EPD results: Check out these EPD results at 4 years old: Top 3% AFD -1.557 (#759 of 27776) Top 3% SF -1.592 (#739 of 27776) Top 4% %F>30 -5.501 (#1151 of 27776) Latte's 2010 white female "Latte's Kizmet" is an absolute knock-out (see side bar picture). Her fleece is exhibiting all of Latte's positive characteristics...high frequency and amplitude and dense with tight bundling. Her 2011 histogram report: AFD 17.6, SD 4.6, CV 25.9, %>30u 1.5 Latte's 2012 light fawn male is the "spitten image" of his sire. Absolutely gorgeous fiber...fine, high frequency and amplitude with tight bundling. Latte's 2014 light fawn female "Miss Kizzie" is exhibiting the same high frequency, high amplitude, dense and tight bundling fleece as her siblings. Her first histogram report: AFD 16.7 SD 3.7 CV 22.3 CF 99.5 Latte's 2015 white female is also "stamped" with Latte's highly desirable fiber qualities...high frequency, high amplitude, dense and tightly bundled fleece. In 2018 Latte and our white foundation female Luluy created a "knock out" light silver grey male. Pistol is a carbon copy of his sire except in grey. Same fleece characteristics, same striking phenotype, and same presence. He is everything we could have hoped for in this breeding and more. TEMPERAMENT: We believe temperament is highly inheritable and have no concerns about the temperament "Latte's" offspring could inherit from him. He is quiet and e

Dam: Matina May of Somerset Farm

Big, Bold, Beautiful

Matina May of Somerset Farm

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 30898448DOB: 5/17/200717 yrs
PHENOTYPE: Matina May (aka Tina) presents solid bone structure, substance, balanced, proportional conformation, and excellent head-to-toe coverage. At exactly one year old she weighed 109 lbs. Tina's fiber exhibits medium density, broad low amplitude crimp, and good staple length. GENOTYPE: Grandsire is Snowmass Highlander (Bueno/Don Julio genetics) PRODUCTION FEMALE TRAITS: Her dam is one of our strongest production females....easy breeder (settles on the first breeding), solid producer, easy births, plenty of milk. All traits that generally pass on to offspring. As a maiden, Tina was settled on the second breeding. Tina delivered a beautiful white female 5/22/10 (354 days). It was an unattended delivery, plenty of milk, bonded immediately with the cria, patient with nursing, attentive, etc., etc....everything you would want from a maiden and now production female. TEMPERAMENT: She has inherited the quite temperament of her sire Followill Emilio. With people she is very easy to handle, within the herd she is an alpha female like her dam. BENEFITS TO YOUR BREEDING PROGRAM: Excellent foundation female breeding traits as mentioned above. Definitely a "no muss, no fuss" producer. She has great coverage and density. As demonstrated by her first cria, when bred to a male with fineness and uniformity she produces offspring that are a step up from her many positive characteristics. Fiber stats on her first cria's (Kizmet) first shearing: AFD 17.6, SD 4.6, CV 25.9 CF 98.5, SF 17.9 REPEATED BREEDING: We were so impressed with Kizmet we repeated the breeding to ChaccuLatte. "Latte's Hombrecito" is striking and exhibits the same brightness, fineness and density as a cria as a Kizmet. If you are looking for a young solid production female with strong inheritable maternal traits and years of production ahead of her be sure to check this girl out. Tina comes with a complimentary breedback (for her or any of your females) to any Alpacas of Somerset Farm herdsire. All breedings come with a female and 30 day live birth guarantee. We invite you to call (530-620-6033) for more information and to check out our web site (www.alpacasomersetfarm.com) to learn about the benefits of working with us on your alpaca purchases and breedings. Description

"Kizzy" is a head turner. Once you get past her unmistakable cuteness you realize there is so much more to her than her cute cheerleader looks and perky attitude. This is a youngster with solid production female potential. Kizzy's is the first cria from Matina May. It was an unattended delivery, plenty of milk, bonded immediately with the cria, patient with nursing, attentive, etc., etc....everything you would want from a maiden and now production female. Her sire is our own ChaccuLatte of Somerset Farm. Her fleece is exhibiting all of Latte's positive characteristics...high frequency and amplitude and dense with tight bundling. Her 2011 histogram report: AFD 17.6, SD 4.6, CV 25.9, %>30u 1.5 As the picture shows, her solid frame is covered from head-to-toe with the bright, tightly bundled, crimpy, and dense fleece we seek in our breeding program. TEMPERAMENT: Kizzy is extremely calm. We believe temperament is highly inheritable and have no concerns about the temperament "Latte's" offspring could inherit from him. He is quiet and easy to handle. Someone who handled him in the show ring for us commented that they would like an entire herd with his temperament. We will consider a trade for a female with comparable value and traits. We invite you to call (530-620-6033) for more information and to check out our web site (www.alpacasomersetfarm.com) to learn about the benefits of working with us on your alpaca purchases and breedings.
