Lancaster's Highland Chieftain

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 30590540DOB: 6/20/200618 yrs
BIG NEWS!! Chieftain returned to the PAOBA Breedes Showcase with four offspring that took blue ribbons and TWO Championship banners! In 2009 Chieftain was the Color Champion at the PAOBA Breeders Showcase...and Judge's Choice! With a Color Champion in brown...the oldest one in the championship class...and a Reserve Champion in fawn...the youngest, Chieftain demonstrated he has color, fineness, and density covered. Did we mention he was also the Get of Sire winner...go Chieftain! Another Blue. Chieftain has a strong, square frame with soft, bright fiber everywhere. Want crimp? He has it from his top knot literally down to his knees! His dam is our finest fibered colored female and his sire is the legend-in-the-making Six time Color Champion Peruvian Lancaster. What a great match-up this was for color and fiber! Chieftain's numbers from his 2007 histogram are MOST impressive, and even more impressive is his ability to maintain those wonderful fiber stats. Chieftain has earned Blue ribbons and Banners as a juvenile, yearling, and mature male. With seventeen Blues he has been judged by just about everyone and all agree...this is one awesome male. Chieftain has proven his ability to maintain his outstanding fleece characteristics even as a breeding male. During the Spring 2009 show season, he added two Color Championships (PAOBA and MAPACA), one Reserve Color Championship (Nationals), and the Judge's Choice Award at PAOBA. Judge Mike Safley compared him to a juvenile for the Championship at MAPACA and declared him the finest in the class. What a great compliment for a three year old! This is a herdsire you will want to breed to both your dark and light colors for fineness, density, and crimp. Judges put him at the front of the line for his combination of fineness and density. Isn't that what it's all about? ADD ANOTHER BLUE IN 2011: Chieftain placed first once again at MAPACA...this time in the fleece show. No wonder. His fourth histogram was almost identical to his first histogram! That makes 18 Blues in halter and fleece classes. INTEREST FOR SALE Here is a rare opportunity to add a marquee male to your herd. We would love to give Chieftain the chance to broaden his exposure to other parts of the country. He has been a valuable asset to our breeding program and our farm income, and feel his show career and quality of offspring now warrant another farm to help promote him with marketing and offspring. A male of this caliber typically commands a much higher sales price, but with our decision to retire from the breeding and sales part of our business, Chieftain needs a new home to continue his legacy of outstanding production. If he meets your breeding needs, this could be the male that increases your farm exposure, creates income from breeding fees, or alleviates your own breeding costs.

Service Sire: Casanova's Peruvian Crown Prince

Champion Genetics

Casanova's Peruvian Crown Prince

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30590557DOB: 8/21/200618 yrs
We named him "Crown Prince" for a reason. We believe this guy could be the heir apparent to his legendary sire, Snowmass Casanova. Out of our black AOBA Res. Color Champion, Boadicea, he has the fiber and conformation to make heads turn. His dam Boadicea was the queen of the show circuit in 2000 with folks waiting at the ring to purchase her as she won yet another blue ribbon. We made the decision to keep her as part of our foundation stock. She has rewarded that decision time and time again with Champion cria. She is dam to Highland Oberon, a Reserve Color Champion and multiple blue ribbon winner (including AOBA), The Scotsman, a black Reserve Color Champion and multiple blue ribbon winner, and Highland Boudica, a multiple Color Champion. Crown Prince's first fleece sample came back as AFD 17.7; SD 3.8; CV 21.5; %>30 0.9....YES, A GRAY FLEECE. Crown Prince has combined the best of his dam and sire to be an example of the fineness, density, crimp, and conformation that is making him in demand even as he just starts his breeding career. He began last Fall's show season off with a bang! At the Empire Extravaganza he placed second to the Reserve Color Champ with the judge stating he had the finest fleece in the class. At the No. Illinois Alpaca Show, Crown Prince was awarded the Blue Ribbon in his class AND the Color Championship. Judge Jill MacLeod took very little time to select him as Champion. Crown Prince is consistently rewarded for his fine fleece that shows good staple length, crimp and density. We believe that he is certainly one of the finest Peruvian gray males on the East Coast. With confirmed pregnancies from the summer, this is the time to add Crown Prince's excellent genetics, conformation, and fiber to your herdsire options. Please contact us for further details. Description

Yea...Caledonia's repeat breeding to Chieftain produced a girl this time. Of course, another boy like Monarch (three banners and six blues) would not have been such a bad thing either. Highland Ceri is fine fleeced, elegant, and conformationally right on. She was shorn at just two months, and her first AFD came back at 16.9. We don't believe the next one will be too far off this one. Her fiber feels incredibly soft and is showing crimp from skin to tips with great staple regrowth. At the Best of the U.S., the judge placed her second and declared her the finest in the class. She has been confirmed bred to Casanova's Peruvian Crown Prince, our banner and blue ribbon wining gray male who routinely produces gray out of fawn...black, brown, gray... This will be a great pairing for a fine fleeced cria, regardless of color! Ceri is a sweetheart who will earn a place in your foundation herd with her personality, fiber, and genetics! In an effort to facilitate our retirement sale, we are offering truly remarkable prices for packages of 2+ females, and have interest in our breeding males or herdsire quality younger males to include in a package. Our primary goal is to send our alpacas off to reputable breeders to insure their continued production success and health. If you have a need for upper end females, we have the females, the price, and the terms that will make your next one of quality and financial feasibility. Please inquire about package pricing for any of our sale alpacas.
