We were so happy with full brother Apollo King that we repeated the breeding of Luna with Alpine King. Moonraker was the result of that, and wowie, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Nice, good sized frame, correct in its proportions, beautiful head (more handsome even than big brother Apollo), and flat topline. Add to that his LONG staple length and bright white, fine, dense fleece, and he is about all one can ask for. He has beautiful, uniform crimp style throughout his blanket and is covered with this fleece from front to back, head to toe. Check out his 15.9 micron fleece stats with SD of 3.2, CV of 20.2 and comfort factor at 100%. His dam, Luna, is one of the finest Tuscan Gold crias born, and we elected to keep her in our foundation herd for her extreme fineness. And has she ever produced! Her next cria after Moonraker was a female we named Moonstruck, and she boasts an 11-month histogram with AFD 12.1, SD 2.8 and comfort factor 100%. Moonstruck was sold at the 2015 Amber Autumn Invitational Auction. This is one of our best lines at Bella Vita. UPDATE: Moonraker has grown into a very macho soon-to-be 3-year-old. He won his class at the 2015 TxOLAN show and went on to become the white male Champion. Woo hoo! Although he walked in a couple of his juvie classes, we never lost our confidence in this young male, and our belief in him has been rewarded. His mom, Luna, has one blue ribbon to her name, but she is a major star on our ranch. Just goes to show how you can't let the show ring totally drive breeding and purchase decisions in this business.

Description

Averanda is one female NOT in our retirement sale. She will sell separately but I am keeping her listed as a sale animal. This is a full Peruvian 1/2 Accoyo proven producer. Since she is 9 years old this year, we ahve reduced her price, but she still has a few crias ahead of her. She is a quiet girl with good bone and has excellent reproductive qualities. Averanda is an Avenger daughter, from the Royal Fawn line, so fawn color could be in the mix. She has produced a light fawn cria, Asti, with Tuscan Gold, as well as a light fawn/beige son, Platinum, and 2 white female Tuscan Gold crias, Viva and Vanity Fair. We also had Averanda's full sister here at the ranch and sold her with a Tuscan Gold cria in utero. That cria was a light fawn female, Petrina, born at Snow Diamond Alpacas after their purchase of her dam. Of their histograms for 2010, Petrina was the finest. Averanda has been an excellent reproductive female. Calm, easy to handle, she passes on that quiet personality to her babies. She has had uncomplicated pregnancies and auto-pilot deliveries. She has read the book! She has produced plenty of milk to sustain her crias, and they grow quickly and mature well with female offspring ready to breed at 1 1/2 years of age. Averanda herself has nice size, good size of bone and a well balanced frame with good fleece coverage everywhere. If you are looking for these stellar reproductive qualities in a foundation female, Averanda is a good choice.
