Charlie Brown is undeniably the cutest alpaca we have ever seen. He inherited his mother's large, dark, liquid eyes, and you can see them occasionaly when they peak out of his very long and full suri topknot. He is built like a linebacker with very good body capacity, broad chest, and straight legs and excellent fiber coverage all the way to his toes. When you see pictures of his sire, Black Debut, you can see where Charlie gets this body capacity and absolutely dense, total fiber coverage. The very silky feel of his finely locked fiber has always brought comments from the judges about his superior handle. Dr. Julio Sumar was especially impressed with Charlie's handle when he awarded him 2nd place out of 3 males at the 2004 GWAS show in Denver, CO. It was his coverage and handle that took him to second place out of 4 males at the 2004 ABR Fall Festival. Charlie possesses an excellent bite, straight legs, level topline and grows back his fleece maintaining the locks every year. Charlie may not be the biggest male at Bella Vita, but don't tell him that. He has enough macho attitude and "hutzpah" to more than make up for it. We gelded Charlie in 2011, so he would make a very nice fiber boy for someone wanting good suri fiber to spin or process.

Description

Engrasar is the Spanish word for "to make greasy, lubricate, oil", named because his cria fleece looked that greasy and in honor of his dam. He is the product of Charlie Brown and Engracia, two full Bolivians. Engracia was an extremely lustrous female from the AOA program, and our best suri female at the time of her premature death. Engrasar is a very nicely put together, beige male with good substance of bone, balanced frame and beautiful head. He has excellent coverage of fleece and good density wth locks and luster. In his show career, Engrasar earned a blue ribbon and two 3rd place finishes, and his relatives have done well in the show ring. His granddam is Lucy Brown, and you can see her winning offspring on her separate page, Sylvania and Venezie. Engracia is also the dam of our Evita, a multiple blue ribbon winning female, who you can see on her own page. We gelded Engrasar in 2012 as he has a strong personality and requires a firm hand when handling him, much like his sire. Once haltered, he does lead well, but we believe in full disclosure, so do want the prospective buyer to be aware that he is not a quiet, easy going personality. Since this personality has passed to the next generation, we made the difficult decision to geld this male. He is a nice specimen conformationally with an excellent bite, one of the rare full Bolivians left in the US, and has a very good presence about him. His fleece is very lustrous (note his fleece pictures), and is nice and uniform in color for the fiber enthusiast and would make beautiful end product. It was a difficult decision to geld him, but we believe the correct one. We are selling our suris to make room for our expanding huacaya program and because we don't want to build another barn or buy a bigger trailer. Our herd reduction can be to your advantage.
