Introduction of Pedigree

WHFNC Legendary Sweet Lorraine

HuacayaOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 30032516DOB: 3/8/200618 yrs
Lorraine was purchased at auction to capture her pedigree into our true black line development and looked forward to the breeding to Snowmass Ovation offered at auction however he was confused with Patagonia's Chulo resulting in a striking line bred silver gray MAMGB Apo Niya in 2010. We were thrilled that the doubling up on Neruda resulted in no issues verifying that line for us. MAMGB Kaichiga, Lorraine's 2011 cria, went poof when he dried out, and then developed into a very good looking young macho with an AFD of 18.85 and an SD of 4.32 for his first shearing. His second fleece is coming in consistent with a very fine handle. MAMGB Suluta, Lorraine's 2012 cria, arrived in September, well conformed, spunky, and a wearing bright, true black, fleece densely covering her frame from topknot to toes. These are the blacks that are fun to watch develop each day bringing more and more satisfaction that "you got a good one there." The 2012 breeding was so successful we decided to repeat it for a 2013 cria, but we will have to be patient and wait that event until October. Delivered a stunning rose or caramel colored female in Thahca with such a mild disposition September 22, 2013. Delivered a beautiful blue black boy Saturday morning, September 20, 2014 - definitely worth the wait! Akab Sapa is developing into that stunning boy he started. Lorraine and Wasake definitely knew what they were doing! He is SOLD. We visited Akab the other day (2017) and his fleece development and volume is stunning. Finally delivered a beautiful copper boy 8-15-2019 with loads of fiber and curls.

Description

Suluta (Soo-loo'-tah) described by Judge Jude Anderson described her as well as we could, "She is a well built true to type alpaca with fineness and soft hand and more capacity but not quite as uniform as the alpaca placing ahead of her." All visitors who visit have remarked on her teddy bear ears. HUH? We thought it was her fleece's exquisite hand and brilliant black fleece.

Awards

[4th] Illinois Alpaca Show - Fall 2013 - Yearling Halter - she placed fourth following her sisters Atungya and BobbyJo in this class.
[5th] 2013 Michigan Alpaca Festival (Fall) - she was the youngest in the class just making the age cutoff and received the placement due to her size with the judge noting she was young and had a bit of growing to do or as the judge stated "I would like to see a little more oumph in her frame". She will grow. What got her a placement in the clas of 11 was her fineness and very soft hand having the softest hand of this class.
