SNOWMASS ROYAL LEGEND

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 30700871DOB: 8/18/200618 yrs
To quote Julie Skinner "Royal Legend is one of their all time key Royal Challenger sons" He has extreme fineness and has continued to keep it". His AFD at age 7 (in 2013) is 20.8 microns....at age 7! His lineage is a who's who of famous alpacas featuring Hemingway, Bueno, and Augusto and there is a non Peruvian Way Back...but there isn't a ratio to claim it...so Full Peruvian is what we chose. His Dam is a Snowmass "All Time" favorite Royal white female from their key import 4Peruvian Isabella, who has since passed away. She was from a remote region known for fineness production and density- in line with Merino Sheep. Snowmass holds on to whatever genetics they can from her line, as it has been a great influence with lasting fineness and density of fleece across the board and her daughter, Queen Isabella, is living proof...couple this with Royal Challenger and a true Legend (Royal) is born. Royal Legend was on their lead show list however was injured just before show season and did not go on the tour. He recovered and they held on to him for their own breeding program. Julie chose his fleece over 50 other Fawns to enter into Nationals in 2008 and he took a respectable 3rd place in the largest class under Accoyo America Marathon. Because he was related to all Fawn and Dark through Royal Rose and Royal Reserve and many of their whites through Queen Isabella, they put Legend up for sale in the 2010 Pucara Premium Auction. He has Magnificent Fleece with extensive fineness over his entire frame, impeccable density and one of the brightest fawn fleeces in the Snowmass Herd! Because of his previously mentioned injury (aggravated at the 2010 Pucara Premium auction) Royal Legend will be selectively bred to Heaven's Hill Dark herd and those of our clients. He has 2 TB females in our herd to date... that are retained for our program! He is our secret weapon!

Her fleece is fine with structure and length. Her best feature is her gorgeous head! She has a solid conformation with complete coverage from head to toe. This female descends from 4Peruvian Matador and Peruvian Macusani and is a proven production dam with plenty of milk and a VERY good mom! Isadora has passed on her fine fleece, rock solid conformation, and her wonderful head to her Cria. Nice girl!

Full ownership in Orlando is now available. See Orlando in motion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSagJk4leNs How many gray herdsires are out there who have produced offspring winning over 80 BANNERS, over 160 BLUE RIBBONS, and still producing CHAMPIONS? Orlando Cloud is a stunning male who has without a doubt helped boost the quality of gray huacayas to new heights. So often a male shines for a few years, and then is overtaken by higher quality. Not so with Orlando. In 2008 his offspring began winning top honors, and since then at almost every large show his offspring, and now grand kids and great grand kids, continue to bring home banners and blues. Gray Alpaca Co. recently had four Orlando offspring in a row, and this group is simply outstanding. We can't wait to see them in the show ring. At the October Empire Extravaganza in Syracuse, NY, his offspring won two CHAMPIONSHIPS, including Gray Championship in fleece, and a RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP, along with 4 Blue Ribbons. He continues to stamp out high quality crias. Orlando's accomplishments are many, and he was named HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR 2013, and 2014. This award is based on the number of points accrued by winning offspring at MAPACA, to date the largest show in 2013. Here is the new standard for gray! Orlando stands above the rest with his consistent, dense architecture from his tail to his topknot. The judges have raved about this male from the time he hit the show circuit, and his offspring are now following in his footsteps with multiple Championships and Reserve Championships. When bred to gray or black his cria's colors have been primarily gray, and he has also shown the ability to throw gray out of fawn. Orlando's stud fee is $5,000, with generous discounts for drive by breedings. For details please contact Nancy at [email protected] or Jeff at [email protected]. Offspring Show Wins Update: Orlando offspring were first shown in 2008, and to date they have won over 80 Color Championships/ Reserve Championships, and over 160 Blue Ribbons!
