It is with great sadness we share the passing of Sequoia. His friendship will be missed greatly. :(. We are leaving his page for reference for his offspring. RIP my sweet boy.
Sequoia has a large bone structure and a macho presence. He produces a nice staple length with excellent character and a wonderful handle. I will be sending a sample in for testing soon!!!
Sequoia's genetics offer multiple generations of Silver Champions and Champion producers! His sire Holy Smoke is well known for his own Champion qualities and for producing Champion offspring, just like his sire before him, the great Silverado! On Sequoia's dam's side comes Peruvian Oro who was the #1 pick of the '93 importation and has over 140 cria on the ground with many National Champions to his credit! He also is known for his lasting fineness and for his low CV (less than 20) at over 11 years old!
To date, Sequoia has produced a MRG (Oliver) , Black (Percy) , and DSG (Petra), all solid colors from solid dams. I can't wait to breed him to Chelsea and later Lexi to hopefully produce a cria like their relative Petra!!! :)
I was lucky enough to be able to buy Sequoia's last couple fleeces and I am now working through them. BOY are they NICE! Density so they are nice and clean, wonderful handle with a soft and slick feel (histogram coming this spring!), character, and consistency that made skirting/sorting a dream! I have now finished some of his yarn and it is AWESOME!!!! The fastest selling grey I have in the shoppe!
