Australia later sold Snowmaster to his dam's native Peru, making him the ONLY (1st) North American born Alpaca to be BOUGHT & IMPORTED TO PERU... and leaving only a limited number offspring in North America! So far DESTELLO has sired 3 females with Nuera, Mentirosa &Buttercup (our faithful, great lineage, exceptional mother's). The result of CVA Carmen pairing w Snowmass De Beers was so impressive, that CVA Carmen was bred to Snowmass DeBeers 3 times in a row (repeated 2x after Destello was born..got females). Carmen had Black, Brown & Dark Fawn in her background and produced from white (or beige) to colors (her 2005 son & 2006 & 2007 daughters)! According to first owner (& us) Mentirosa is one of best mother's we've ever seen.(see offspring below) She's calm, attentive... produces plenty of milk. She's a wonderful personality making her a favorite. During a very hot summer day, she came into her cool basement and persuaded us to let her stand in fine, cool mist from water hose. So we played w her outside finding that she'll go into a sprinkler, or a water spray from your hose...playing & getting front chest/neck area completely wet. She was so trusting, bonding with us, that she led several other females to trust us... walk into our hose. She is very wise, a trusted leader in her herd who helps to watch her cria & crias of other alpacas... but a gentle, calm leader who will play w you if you have a gentle spray from a water hose (if gentle...even without the sprayer). NO BREEDS /NOT for sale: till PROVEN on this farm! (MUST show DAMs medical record to protect Lazer from illness)! End of 2016 and NO CRIA YET FROM 3 BREEDS LAST FALL (actually he had 3 larger,then 3 smaller dams put in with him)! Our fantastic, "Brightly-shining" WHITE Junior-Sire"mean" fiber diameter was 17.1 microns. Fibers greater than 30 microns is only 1.8 %. He has that fine buttery soft fiber! His sire Triton still has only 2.7 % of fibers greater than 30 microns this year! And his standard deviation in fiber is not much different than his sire Triton's. Breedings may be available after we get the first cria from him! He's serviced 3 females, but want to actually see his cria before opening him up to other females outside our herd.
