Description

There are a lot of high quality PCA El Nino sons out and about, but we think Da Vinci's dam line makes him a very special guy, capable of taking both colored and white huacaya programs to a much higher level! When selecting a sire, we place at least equal weight on the strength of the dam line as we do the sire line. Frankly, we think the old adage, 'behind every great man is a great woman' simply holds more truth than most breeders would be willing to admit. Sure, Da Vinci is the picture of his famous sire, PCA Accoyo El Nino. More importantly, though, his dam is an equally famous dark brown female retained by her producer for his foundation herd. Pacific Crest Peruvian Mulberry is a multiple color champion female. Her dam, Da Vinci's granddam 5P Destiny, has produced color champion colored offspring, year after year. Da Vinci carries one tiny spot on his left rear stifle of his dam's color. Da Vinci's paternal grandsire was the late and great Accoyo Caligula and his maternal grandsire is Accoyo Camilio, two of the most influential males in our national herd. Da Vinci is co-owned with our friends at Andes Dandies, and he is presently at their farm. We have had quite a number of light champion offspring, and one to watch at our partners' farm is Emerson, who is medium fawn with a 14 micron AFD fleece.
