Mineral Springs Ruby is the daughter of Quasar, the "Ideal Shaquille Son"' out of a black Silvio daughter. Shaquille is a well-known medium rose grey herdsire sired by 5Peruvian Quicksilver, who is known for producing champion grey offspring! His fleece displays amazing brightness all the way to the tips. Shaq has everything you need in a grey herdsire: outstanding lineage, conformational qualities as well as an outstanding grey fleece with crimp and spectacular density displaying characteristics usually seen only in light colored fleeces. His awards and his progeny speak for themselves. Shaquille comes from an incredible bloodline which includes his grandsire on the dam side, PPeruvian Leon- a rare dark fawn ACCOYO herdsire. Shaquilles Dam, NWA, Ltd Sunshine is a producer of champions. She has 8 offspring on the ground, 5 being of grey color and one of which is the great MFI Scimitar. CPeruvian Silvio is an extremely dense, classic silver grey Peruvian male with flawless conformation. Silvio has a solid silver-grey blanket with black skin and a white tuxedo. CPeruvian Silvio was one of the best grey males in North America and certainly one of the most consistent producers of high quality grey and black offspring. His crias have excellent fleeces and conformation with a proud, upright carriage. On Ruby's dam side, she carries the genetics of Peruvian Jeronimo, who was sired by PPeruvian Guellermo. Jeronimo is a big, bold, fawn Herdsire with excellent density, fleece character and phenotype. With this excellent genetic background, Ruby has been destined to produce high quality cria's with superb fiber and conformation. And, we have not been disappointed. Ruby's first cria was a beautiful TB male with very fine fleece and shinny "popcorn" style fiber. NRV Alpacas Ebony Fiddler, sired by Rhett Butler, won a 3rd Place Ribbon, out of a class of 10, in his first show at CABO. Her second cria is a beautiful dark rose grey male. Mocha Latte, at 6.8 months of age, took a 2nd Place ribbon at his first show, the VAOBA Expo. Most recently, Mocha took a 1st Place Ribbon at the 2013 Virginia Classic and another 1st Place at the 2013 VAOBA Expo, and the 2014 Southern Select. With such an excellent genetic background, Ruby will be an excellent Foundation female for many years to come, offering a variety of color in future crias.
