Snowmass Nova's Galaxy

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Bay Black
AOA# 30408302DOB: 9/18/200618 yrs
Galaxy, a son of Snowmass Nova, is a compact male with massive head and leg coverage plus solid bone that he definitely passed on to his cria. He has a perfect bite and nice temperament. He's a bay black male who tends to throw darker colors than the dam. He`s thrown browns and dark fawns when bred to white, and true black when bred to black. He has excellent conformation, bite and a wonderfully shaped head with great coverage. Those who owned Galaxy as a juvi and yearling bought him to breed not show. So while his show career may not look impressive, his first round of cria met with great success in the 2011 show rings bringing home multiple awards including many first place ribbons. Many of those same offspring are placing again in the 2012 shows, including Nova`s Galaxy`s Paige who took first and RC at GWAS 2011. He continues to impress as his next round of cria are hitting the 2013 show string and are bringing home banners. Check out the picture of Rancho Margarita's Royal Crown. He just won the IOA Cottage industry Reserve Color Champion banner and look at that head...like father, like son! LADY KAITLYN - SOLD

HuacayaBred (Female)White
AOA# 31120722DOB: 1/30/200816 yrs
Kaitlyn has mostly Accoyo Lineage. Kaitlyn's maternal grandsire, 5 Peruvian Chaccu, was the 2001 AOBA National Show Blue Ribbon winner in the Get of Sire Class. Chaccu was originally used extensively in the Snowmass Alpacas Breeding Program. Chaccu represents rare blood here in the US as he is from the Puno Region in Peru where very few genetics were released during the imports to the US. Kaitlyn had a male cria (16.2 lbs) on 5/14/2012 out of Snowmass Rock Star XX, our magnificent true black herdsire. Kaitlyn is currently bred to Snowmass Andean Midnight, a stunning true black, being elite in every way. Snowmass Andean Midnight offers proven genetics of brightness and handle. This beautiful, compact, jet true black, silky-soft male holds an outstanding pedigree for fineness. His fiber has a uniform low amplitude high frequency style of crimp. His grandsire is none other than Andean Bronze, the sire of Royal Bronze - from Snowmass' vicuna type alpaca retaining fineness under 20 microns after reaching maturity. In the show ring, Andean was awarded 1st place in AOBA, 2008; 1st place and Reserve Color Champion at IAO, 2007; and 2nd place at Futurity, 2007. Her due date is May 2014.
