Producer of champion bred for appy!
Alta Luna's Eva B488
HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 823230DOB: 7/15/200024 yrs
Eva’s sire is Alta Luna’s Man from Uncle, a full Peruvian, and dam is Alta Luna’s Granita whose background is mostly Chilean with some true black and grey in her heritage.
Eva has the most incredible amount of milk for her crias, and she has been known to foster other crias; in fact, she has even nursed two crias at the same time for more than six months. She is an asset to any farm for those unforeseen times you need additional milk.
Her offspring, including our own Emily, are good natured and easy to handle. She is an easy keeper, breeds easily, and is a joy to have on the farm.
Eva's 2012 cria, Estates Liesel XX, took a blue ribbon at TxOLAN in 2014 as a yearling in a class of five, and then went on to be the Color Champion at the show in the Brown Female Championship with lots of competition entries. Liesel's fleece is pictured on the right.
On June 13, 2014 Eva had a lovely girl cria, Ygraine, from Snowmass Royal Knight. Snowmass Royal Knight’s 7 yr fiber stats are: 16.5 M; SD 3.5; CV 21.1 & %> 30m=0.4!!! Nope, there are no typos! Snowmass Royal Knight is the real deal. He exemplifies the fiber of the future. Sired by Snowmass Royal Bronze & held tightly in the esteemed breeding program of Snowmass Alpacas, Royal Knight’s son’s are now servicing colored Snowmass Matrix offspring at Snowmass. That’s referral enough for most of us! If you are breeding for extreme fineness, density, rock-solid macho conformation in color, Eva's cria Ygraine is your opportunity to obtain the Snowmass Royal Knight lineage.
Eva is now confirmed bred to our incredible harlequin appy stud, Billbong, who has a very high rate of throwing appy cria! We are very excited about this breeding!
