NeverSummer's American Iron

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 31890007DOB: 6/29/201014 yrs
American Iron is the type of male to compliment ANY quality grey breeding program. Such a stunning male - super heavy bone, outstanding presence, macho head ("Best Head" award winner at IAO 2011!) and a calm disposition. Get into his silky, fine, bright, LONG fiber and it melts away at the touch. It's one of those fleeces that just gets better with age. He's had a very successful career in the show ring including a sweep at IAO 2012 winning both the Grey Male Commercial Halter Championship and Reserve Grey Male Cottage Fleece Championship - a superior fleece in both divisions!!! The following year he won the Spinners Dream IAO 2013 - the top award in the Cottage Fleece division! Yes, Iron has the requisite successful run in the show ring, but more importantly this male has the power in his pedigree that tips the scales in his favor for reproducing his awesome phenotype, desirable conformation and fleece characteristics. Iron is sired by the incomparable grey herdsire, Aussie .38 Special. As he ages, .38 Special just keeps getting better. He is a two-time Judges' Choice winner, including Judges' Choice Fleece at the 2010 AOBA Nationals (4th fleece!). Iron's pedigree is packed: Hemingway, Victor, Royal Fawn, 5Peruvian Royal Incan Legend, Lanark's Silver Charm, Peruvian Aladdin...and let's not forget Hannaruh. Experienced breeders know the value in stacking a pedigree with proven and repeatable genetics, and American Iron brings that to the breeding pen. Iron's 3 year histogram shows a 22.3/ 4.4/ 19.6 with a spin fineness of 21.7. His 2015 Histogram as a five year old breeding male shows an AFD 24.7 SD 4.5 CV 18.1 CV 89.7 Curve 36.4! Iron's cria are now on the ground, and he is indeed passing along his superb conformation with superior fleece, long staple, silky fineness.

Ore Hill Espoir

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 31082204DOB: 5/22/200717 yrs
Espoir is a beautiful medium silver grey female with strong grey genetics. She is 4th generation grey, and seven out of ten of her ancestors are grey! She has good confirmation, ample coverage and great staple length. As a foundation female Espoir delivers! Espoir has had three tux grey female crias, all with quality fleece. Espoir is an easy birther and an even better mom with lots of milk. She is kind and gentle, and a joy to have in our herd. Espoir's first cria Eowyn is a gorgeous rose-grey girl who has done well in the ring. Espoir's second cria, Silver Sage, is a beautiful silver grey girl with awesome density and crimp. On August 11, 2016, Espoir had a gorgeous rose-grey girl from multi champ rose grey herdsire American Iron!

Service Sire: Crescent Moon's Wilkinson

10x Grey Champ, 2x National ColorChamp!

Crescent Moon's Wilkinson

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 32670981DOB: 4/5/201311 yrs
Epic Alpacas is pleased to announce the addition of Crescent Moon's Wilkinson to our outstanding lineup of herdsires! Wilkinson is a 10-time Champion and more notably, he's the back-to-back National Color Champion, taking the highest grey male honors at AOA in both 2015 and 2016! Most recently, as a 3.5 year old, he took the Color Championship at the 2016 Alpaca Breeders Invitational in a very competitive group of greys, proving that even after having cria on the ground, he's still got it! It's no wonder that Wilkinson is such an impressive male. His sire, Accoyo America Jason, is a legend in his own time, winning AOBA Nationals Color Champion in brown three years running. It is rare to find such exquisite crimp, character and density of fleece as Jason. Even better, Jason has consistently reproduced those characteristics in his crias, at such a high level that even his white offspring are consistently ribboning in the competitive white classes, and many of his progeny are champions! Wilkinson's dam, Crescent Moon's Forget Me Not, is also a Color Champion in her own right, winning 10 blue ribbons and 4 banners, including 2010 Futurity Grey Female Reserve Color Champion and 2014 CABA Classic 1st Place Produce of Dam. Wilkinson's cria have started arriving here at Epic and we are THRILLED! So much density, so much character, so much grey! His eldest male offspring, Crescent Moon's Subasio, has started making his impact on the show circuit in Fall 2017 with a number of blues and a Reserve Championship at an amazingly competitive double show in Oregon.
Enormous thanks to Scott and Debbie Miller of Crescent Moon for sharing this incredible male with us - we are honored and delighted to be partners with them! Wilkinson is going to make one heck of an impact here and on the future of grey huacaya breeding!
