Galium is an Alianza Macusani import that consistently throws high quality affspring. She is an excellent mother that is able to maintain her weight even while nursing her cria. Even as an older dam, Galium continues to breed readily and have uneventful births. She is a known producer of outstanding ribbon winners, including El Dorado Gabriella who won White Color Championship at the Monterey Pronk in a very competitive class of 24. Galium's cria, El Dorado Gold Rush won a 1st place at AlpacaMania in 2008. She has since been bred to Gold Rush's sire, Studmaster Brunello to see if we can get the same award winning results! This combination resulted in the desired offspring three years in a row. El Dorado Gold Nugget has the same beautiful dark fawn color and gorgeous fiber characteristics and crimp as her older full sister Gold Rush. Gold Nugget has followed in her sister's footsteps and took home the blue ribbon in her class at the 2010 California Classic. And MHAR Brunello's Theodore (Teddy) is once again sporting the gorgeous dark fawn fleece. He took a second at the 2013 California classic. Galium's 2012 Cria by Eisenhower (Ike) is a pretty white girl (Galena) with Ike's amazingly fine and dense fleece. For her 2013 Cria we bred Galium to Caligulas Troubador. And check out the lovely light brown female they produced! We love Sweet Serenades's feminine look and exquisite fleece.... And we can't wait to see how she grows out! Galium is currently bred to Snowmass Velvet Legend for a May 2015 cria. This breeding resulting in a very nice white male. He has since sold. We rebred Galium for a 2016 cria but unfortunately it slipped and we were unable to easily obtain another successful pregnancy. At more than 24 years of age we think that Galium has earned the right to retire from our breeding pool. She continues to cush when other alpacas are breeding, a sign that she is more than wiling to be a mom. And we feel sad for her, but this is part of the cycle of life. She will live out her life in retirement here at our ranch where she will get the best care and feed available.

DON DIEGO IS CONSIGNED TO THE AMAZING GREYS ALPACA AUCTION BEING HELD APRIL 29, 2017. REGISTER TO BID AT www.AmazingGreysAlpacas.com INCREDIBLE DENSITY AND LASTING FINENESS IN THIS BOY His fiber results at just shy of 9 years old are amazing! 2015 Histogram - AFD 20.5; SD 4.4; CV 21.2; %>30 3.3; CF 96.3; still this fineness at 9 years of age for grey is amazing! His biopsy follicle test (via Ian Watt) is even more impressive! Density - 62.8/mm with a Secondary:Primary fiber ratio of 13.1:1. Only 3 grey alpacas have ever tested higher in density and no grey alpacas have a higher S:P ratio (in fact, only 7 alpacas in ANY color have a higher S:P ratio - including white!). You'll have trouble finding a grey to put up a combination of those kinds of numbers anywhere! And Diego’s lineage is impressive, too - PPeruvian Pluro, Danko, grandsire Crescent Moon’s Rayo Del Sol (6x Grand Color Champ) and Sire Emerald Farms Rincon Cloud, 2005 AOBA Silver Nat’l Grand Champion, are enough reason to want him in your breeding program! And if that wasn't enough, check out his EPDs! Diego has many cria on the ground & every one of them is lovely. He is clearly passing on his amazing fineness to his cria. 2014 Cria Histograms -- Avenger – 15.23 AFD -- Baratheon – 15.3 AFD -- Ophelia – 15.6 AFD -- Antoinette – 17.98 AFD -- Lazarus – 18.4 AFD LASTING FINENESS RUNS IN HIS BLOOD: Previous Cria Histograms -- Jacob at age 2 - 16.7 AFD -- Joshua at age 3 - 16.4 AFD -- Levi at age 2 - 20.1 AFD Relatives' Histograms -- Diamond (Mom) at age 12 - 23.00 AFD -- Black Pearle (Maternal Sister) at age 5 - 17.52 AFD -- Angel (Maternal Sister) at age 7 - 21.89 AFD Diego’s string of blues began in ’07 with a rave review from Judge Wade Gease: “This young man had a presence as soon as he entered the ring…his feet glided across the grass, his toes pointed straight ahead…he’s consistent throughout…good density and wonderful fineness…beautiful conformation”. That was just the beginning followed by Wade praising him again at AlpacaMania for his “exceptional conformation, extreme fineness, beautiful crimp and consistent fiber character”. He continued to stock pile blues and more at every show and fiber exhibition he went to until he began breeding. Diego has a sweet personality, isn’t skittish and comes right to us or visitors. His fiber is exceptional and buttery fine, his micron stats have always been great for a light animal let alone his coloring! They rank right alongside with some of the best in the nation! His fineness, luster, excellent dense coverage, beautiful typey head and strong bone structure will add great qualities to any herd. Diego is now proudly co-owned with Patagonia Estates.
