3 different Outlaw daughter's have won Grey Female Color Champ at SWRA 3 years in a row! Really!
So, not only does he look nifty, he's passing it on. In addition, all of our Outlaw cria have been a huge improvement over their dams in both fiber and conformation.
Outlaw is a stunning Medium Silver Grey and definitely has command presence. His color is consistent throughout his blanket and there isn't a spot of brown to be found.
He is displaying bundles of fine fleece with medium frequency crimp and the luster is brilliant. His outstanding density has been confirmed by his follicle test results and his 2007 total shear weight of 11.7 pounds. Follicle test results rated him high densisty, especially for a grey.
At the 2005 MIAF, Mike Safley stated, "Our First Place animal has the finest and softest fleece of the class. He has outstanding leg coverage, good bone and a wonderful typey head. It is refreshing to see a grey with the character of white animals."
His Dam is very fine and has thrown extremely low micron cria with very low CV. His Sire, CPeruvian Ac<--description-->
Service Sire: Crescent Moon's Wilkinson
32366068<--ari-->Medium Silver Grey<--color-->Epic Alpacas is pleased to announce the addition of Crescent Moon's Wilkinson to our outstanding lineup of herdsires!
Wilkinson is a 10-time Champion and more notably, he's the back-to-back National Color Champion, taking the highest grey male honors at AOA in both 2015 and 2016! Most recently, as a 3.5 year old, he took the Color Championship at the 2016 Alpaca Breeders Invitational in a very competitive group of greys, proving that even after having cria on the ground, he's still got it!
It's no wonder that Wilkinson is such an impressive male. His sire, Accoyo America Jason, is a legend in his own time, winning AOBA Nationals Color Champion in brown three years running. It is rare to find such exquisite crimp, character and density of fleece as Jason. Even better, Jason has consistently reproduced those characteristics in his crias, at such a high level that even his white offspring are consistently ribboning in the competitive white classes, and many of his progeny are champions!
Wilkinson's dam, Crescent Moon's Forget Me Not, is also a Color Champion in her own right, winning 10 blue ribbons and 4 banners, including 2010 Futurity Grey Female Reserve Color Champion and 2014 CABA Classic 1st Place Produce of Dam.
Enormous thanks to Scott and Debbie Miller of Crescent Moon for sharing this incredible male with us - we are honored and delighted to be partners with them! Wilkinson is going to make one heck of an impact here and on the future of grey huacaya breeding! <--description-->
Fina is a beautiful silver grey color champion with a sweet disposition. Her dam is known for her fine fine black fleece and spectacular cria, and her sire is champion grey get of sire winner, Benchmark's SilverCoyo Outlaw.
In October 2017 Fina had a stunning tux grey girl from our 10x Grey Champion herdsire, Crescent Moon's Wilkinson! Wilkinson is a back-to-back National Grey Color Champion, taking the highest grey male honors at AOA in both 2015 and 2016! Most recently, as a 3.5 year old, he took the Color Championship at the 2016 Alpaca Breeders Invitational in a very competitive group of greys, proving that even after having cria on the ground, he's still got it! We are very excited about this cria!
Fina's 2019 cria did not disappoint, either! A true black female with crimpy, beautiful bright fleece and a great look! This girl is a keeper!
Fina resides at Epic Alpacas ranch. Epic Alpacas is honored to broker a number of great alpacas from Canyon Creek Ranch (owned by Marilynn Scoggins, wife of Ian Watt), which is well known for producing high quality alpacas with superior fleece and superb greys in particular. If you are looking for a champion grey foundation female with strong grey genetics, Fina is not one to miss.
